Problems With DLC From GOTY

Post » Tue May 17, 2011 12:08 am

Hey I have had Fallout 3 GOTY edition for about 4-5 months now. Yet I can't seem to get the disk with the DLC to install. It just makes my computer crash. Ive tried several different DVD drives yet they all do the same thing. Anyone have any ideas on how to fix this? And if so would I have to get a new disk or is there some way for me to download them legally?

Yeah, I had the same problem. I gave up and went back to my 360 GOTY. Sometimes PC is very annoying. :brokencomputer:

Try the Hardware & Software problem board. They might have some ideas there.

With my DLC disc it takes for ever to start does your PC crash or does nothing happen at all?

Some times it just locks up other times it crashes completely.

and @ Winter Wolf: I'll do that thanks. :)

I have had similar problems with Oblivion GOTY.

When I install it, it loads for a bit, and then freezes my computer completely to where I have to manually reset it.

My solution: copy the files from the disk onto the computer and install from there. Works every time.

So, I'd try that -- Explore the disk, copy all the files onto the computer, make a folder named "Fallout 3 DLC Disk", "Disk 2", or something like that, start up the .exe file for installation, if required, select the folder with the data in it, and you should be good to go.
