Problems with downloading mods

Post » Sun Oct 28, 2012 5:31 pm

I'm a fan trying to download Morrwind mods. But I have the Steam version which I discovered complicates things, I'm a total newb when it comes to programing, I'm pretty sure downloading a mod would have been a challenge for me without steam getting in the way, but with Steam I'm clueless.

Does anyone have any advice on how to get mods working on my game?

I could also use any tips I can get on how to download mods in general but I have a grasp on that (with the help of online guides and tutorial videos that i).

I was also wondering if there's any Morrowind modding tools available to download a copy mine didn't come with a CK.

Downloading mods has nothing to do with Steam.
And mods are installed in the same manner for Steam versions.
Read the Pinned FAQs on this forum to learn how to install: http://www.gamesas.com/topic/106063-morrowind-mods-faq/page__p__1772641#entry1772641

This will link you to guides on how to install also, as well as how/where to find mods: http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1305729-mod-recommendations-for-new-players/
Steam users need to redate the BSAs. but the Code Patch will do it for you. (see link)

Basically, I'm trying to say that you need to check the Pinned threads and do a little reading. It's very easy to mod MW even with Steam.

To use the Construction Set (CS) for the Steam version, get this: http://morrowind.nexusmods.com/mods/42196

edit: I always sound rude. I'm just straight-forward.

Wasn't this fixed recently? I've read some posts that now there's CS Installer in "CSUninstall" folder in the game's root directory, though I may be mistaken, I have disc version.

It was fixed in a mod, not through steam. In anycase, the only way in which steam affects mods is which the graphics extender. You simply disable the steam overlay with morrowind.

And the BSA's need to be redated.
But since the Code Patch does it instantly for you, many people don't know that problem still exists.
