I think I've hit a bug concerning these weapons and I just wanted to make sure. I can find about a thousand posts on how to find them but not what to do if they're not there! The bow was there along with some arrows and a daedra heart, but all there was in the other container was a skull and a couple of bones. So I loaded a game before I entered the oblivion gate and tried again, this time no bow or mace, and some of the arrows were gone too. I'm sure I'm in the right place, but if it's important I haven't received the Aide for Bruma mission yet.

So is it a bug? I suppose I could just use the console to give myself the weapons but I'd rather get them properly as it were.

Do you have a mod that might interfere with this gate? This is not random loot so it should be there. Anyway the Aide for Bruma quest does not matter. And all gates with similar layout should you the same loot, so you could try another gate..
