Problems with installing omod mods

Post » Tue May 17, 2011 12:37 pm

The Realistic Fire I downloaded was not in OMOD format. Where did you get it from?

Edit: I downloaded the mod from here: http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=25655.

I think he's downloading the archive files and saving them as .omod files instead of as the right file type, then trying to load them as OMODs instead of creating an OMOD from the archive.

Heh but these mods are ALREADY in OMOD format i couldnt create them .

I could only choose esp esm format to create a new OMOD.

Finally i deleted the OMOD format add esp format and created the new omod.

now it appears on the list and even i loaded it. :D

I will check if everything going well.

Mod files on Tesnexus (or anywhere) usually are in archived formats.

E.g.:
Mod_name.7z, or Mod_name.rar, or mod_name.zip

Open OBMM, look for create (at the bottom of the screen), a window opens up. Select Add archive, and browse to the folder where you downloaded the mod (in 7z, rar or zip format), and select it. Add any details (author name etc.), then click "Create OMOD". It might take 20 seconds to 2 minutes (sometimes more, depends on size of mod), and then you'll get a pop-up that says "OMOD created". It should be on the right-side of you OBMM window now, with a green box next to it. Double-click on the box to make it blue (that's when the mod gets installed.

By the way, OMOD ready does NOT mean that it is n omod file, it means that it has a script that'll help you install the mod when you double-click to make the square blue (usually needed for complex mods that have patches etc.).
