Problems with installing omod mods

Post » Tue May 17, 2011 1:37 am

Hello everyone,

I downloaded Oblivion Mod Manager and installed it in the Oblivion main folder.

When i wanted to install the omod files (simple clicking at it ) it says that : " Could not find omod configuration data".

Could anyone tell me what is going out ? I have newest Oblivion patch. The files are from the TES Nexus site.

I have one omod installed correcctly but others not.

Any help will be appreciated since i'm unabled to enter the OMM website.

Could anyone send me a direct linkt to it?

Perhaps exist newest version of OMM that 1.1 ??

http://sites.google.com/site/oblivionpoinfo/prep/obmm <-- not "OMM"
1.1.12 is the latest version. Browse that site to learn more. The links to that Timeslip's new site and instructions for creating OMODs are at the bottom of the page I linked. Start at "Intro to Modded Oblivion" and follow the steps to navigate the site as a guide.

Did you download the OMOD or make one from a zip/7z/rar file?

No i downloaded one from a website.

The error appeared when i want to install omod manually or load it with Oblivion Mod Manager.

One omod works correctly but others no.

It says that Could not find omod configuration data.

The data file exist it is in the main Oblivion folder.

Other esp files works correctly.

The OMOD might be bad then...? If you downloaded a .omod file, it should already have conversion data. Try downloading it again, maybe?

I downloaded it once more and nothing changes.

Perhaps they are corrupted....but the same when i downloaded the new OBMM version instead of an exe file it is in omod and cannot open -the same error text message - Cannot find central directory - what does it means??

The files are in central directory (Oblivion main folder) what else could i do??

I have run of ideas - perhaps some mods make errors ?

Use the executable version to install OBMM. Arkngt is asking for links to the mods you downloaded, I think. I recognize that one, however. I did not know you needed a mod to do that. http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=22269

But one mod worked others no (many of them). I could tell you their names but it isnt impotrant - however all downloaded from the TES Nexus if you would like to know.

Downloading the files once more dont fix my problem. All the esp files works well.

The OBMM as you know must be installed in the Oblivion directory, but the omod files cant be added manually to the data folder :D.

I have Oblivion patched . Mayby some mods made errors??

The exe file of the new OBMM dont exist . Only the omod .

What do you mean by "worked?" Are they showing up in OBMM at all?

Edit: You do realize that the mod has to be a .omod file to be loaded in OBMM. If it is not in that format, you need to create your own OMOD out of the mod's archive.

Yes heh i know all are in the omod format - i'm not an idiot then ....

No they dont show in OBMM even loading them is imposiible -error occurs.

If they are in esp format i wouldnt bother you at all tomlong..

But creating new omod file you need an esp file at least ;D no omod to omod ....

Are all of the mods you downloaded OMODs? Most mods are not, and you will have to make OMODs for them.

No not all ,as i said some are esp but WORKS FINE, only the .omod not behavies good; they dont even appear on the OBMM list to activate.

When i try to activate them always appeared an error window .

It is impossible to convert omod to esp?? I'm loosing time and i dont know what is happening.

Yes ,even when double-clicking on them (!!).

Error window appaer and it is over but one mod works : water reflection blur.

It has an readme file when i clicked on him and after that i activated him simply.

So i dont think than 15 files are corrupted - what more could i tell , would you like to know the mod names?? :D

As i said all are from the TES Nexus site: www.tesnexus.com

I downloaded them without any problems.

What links could help in this situation?

I tell you their names and if you wish you could search them :

Tape their names in search without the numbers in the end . Good luck.

Have you got an email to the creator of the OBMM ?

Mayby he's got an answer to it.

Okay, the only mod I have used in that group is realistic fire, so let's get that one working. First of all, you need to make an OMOD out of it. Have you done that?

Make an OMOD out of it? Could you explain that??

What does it means? Sorry but i'm a Polish guy ;D - you means delete the omod format for them?? If i do this the OBMM will dont read them .

And realistic fire dont works to .

That one that works have OMOD format so it isnt that problem.

Did you follow the link I gave you before? There are instructions to make an OMOD. Never mind, I will just link you directly to the page: http://sites.google.com/site/oblivionpoinfo/installmods/obmm-installation.
