Problems with Morrowind Overhaul re

Post » Mon May 13, 2013 6:48 pm

We're having trouble with Morrowind Overhaul & can't find the answer on the forums we've researched. Using Abot's Water Life, getting the "Actor has no animation" warning, found out that in order to fix this, we have to lower the view distance. However, when we do this, a really odd effect occurs- it screws with the graphics so that as you're walking towards a hill or mountain, it appears to be melting into the surrounding landscape. As you continue walking towards it, it appears to be melting further but if you walk back, it reasserts itself, in reverse. How can we fix this without causing further graphic errors?

Also, in the upper left hand corner, it keeps noting the SPS & is intruding upon the game, and we haven't yet found anything talking about this. Any advice is appreciated. Abot's Water Life is a must, so please help us!

Download the Abot's Water Life mod on it's own. Extract and install it independently into the games data files overwriting as you go. Try it in game and see what happens. If that solves the problem then great.

If you still have problems, chances are it's a compatibility issue. Try running without MGE. If that solves it then great :) If the problem is with MGE then let people know in the MGE thread that they ought to be able to help.

If the problem isn't compatibility with MGE then you can try a process of elimination to find what the combination of mods that cause the problem is. Best of luck :)

If your AI distance is not set to the max already, it is worth a try

Start Morrowind, Options
Prefs tab, set AI Distance to the max (Far)
Video tab, set View Distance to the max (Far)

The problem with "melting" is usually caused when you generate distant land(which MGSO does) and then install mod which alters the landscape and you don't regenerate the distant land. To fix this, go to MGE XE and generate distant land again.

Thanks for the suggestions. I'll let you know how they work.

Hicks233, it doesn't seem to be a compatability issue but a view distance issue.

I use MGEXE and it has a little checkbox for showing the FPS when I run the MGEXEgui. I would hope normal MGE's gui (no experience with it as everyone always told me to use MGE XE) would have something similar you could uncheck.
