I decided to do a new install of Oblivion (haven't played in awhile) to try out several new mods, the key ones in this case being Oblivion XP, the various BBB clothing mods that have been popping up by the dozen, and a Head06 race.
I'm not a pro at the intricacies of installing mods, so I'm sure I made some errors (most likely due to poor logic).
Some of my install is the same every time - Francesco's scaling mod, the custom race fix, short grass, Initial glow, FormID fix, etc. OBMM and OBSE 18b4. New stuff for this install is DaRNified UI, the BBB body and assorted clothes, Oblivion XP, and Xenius' race compilation.
The problems:
-------------
DaRN UI -
I'd previously used Immersive Interface and wz_inventory for my interface. But Oblivion XP doesn't work with those, so I decided to do DaRN. Used the omod version, activated it, then installed Oblivion XP omod (clicking through the reported conflicts, as the instructions say). The one mistake I may have made was putting in Chargen With Numbers before all of that, since DaRN reported an overwrite there.
Problem - the font, when I went to start a new game and make my character, is quite oversized (clipping outside the spots it should be), and is also fuzzy grey-black.
------------
BBB -
Not being sure quite the right place to start, I figured I'd begin with what I knew already, and overwrite the files with the new mods. So, I installed:
- HGEC body omod (to get the basic starting body & textures)
- BBB body sections following the instructions (required foot & hand, then the chosen versions of upper and lower body)
- Coronera's skeleton
- Pretty Woman & Stylish Jump animations for BBB
Problem - in game the body seems to have the standard "you screwed up your BBB install" problems... the chest is either missing or stretched off into the distance.
Any advice for a very confused mod installer?
