After several years, I got me a hankerin to play D2, so I dug it out and installed it, along with my Sidewinder Pro

To my dismay, I find that I have a few buttons/axis that barely work, if at all

-the hat works, but very slowly I have it assigned to strafe, and I can barely tell that it's moving, but the same function through the keyboard does fine
-the throttle and Z axis don't work at all (not sure if it's really called the Z axis...whatever you call it when you twist the handle side to side)
-all 3 respond perfectly during Windows calibration

Help please?

First, what version of windows are you using and what version of Descent 2 are you using?
That might sound weird, but it makes a difference.
