Profile and Saving Idea

Hey Guys,

I've followed the TES games since Morrowind and I'm a huge fan! With the up and coming release of Skyrim I thought I would voice my idea to the community and see what the general opinion on it is. If its well received then maybe…. just maybe someone involved in the game will read it and take the idea forward.

Anyway, lets get down to the idea and how everything would work :)

We all know that the existing "Save" system in the TES games needs an overhaul, not just that but it needs to be brought up-to-date and inline with what is considered standard in an RPG of today.

My Idea is to implement a new "Profile" style system for each character after they are created and leave the tutorial area. What this "Profile" would mean is that each characters saves would be kept individual and only available from that characters profile. Upon entering the game you would choose one character, this would then load a screen showing the various different saves for that specific character. Also each character would have their own auto save and quick saves so that theres no chance of accidentally overwriting another characters saves.
In addition to this upon clicking on any of the save files for each character it would show you additional information for that character including their current statistics, perks, level etc all in relation to that specific save file. This way you could easily cycle through a characters save files and find the specific one you require without having to load each file one by one and check your stats each time yourself.

Thoughts??

I personally really like how Fable: The Lost Chapters handled profiles, not so much on saving though, that was kinda awkward. Your idea is great though, it would be nice if Bethesda implemented it. *cough*

What your saying sounds identicle to what the 1st Knights of the Old Republic did with saves. It was a great system and I would like this same system in Skyrim as well. I think that we have a chance of seeing something similar as this was a very common complaint obout the Oblivion system

I basically made a very similar thread but whatever as long as its noticed.

The ability to name your saves would be nice not just: Save 1012
