Progress mod where is the omod?

Post » Fri Apr 08, 2011 7:14 am

I keep looking in Nexus and it takes me to a download that has no omod option? http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=14304. Or is this the omod version and I just have to creat it with OBMM (when i did this ombb told me i was missing the author so i stopped.)

There isn't an OMOD version and not having an author for the OMOD does not really matter. I am sure many people make OMODs without filling in any of the extra information details. Package it up and keep going.

any advice on leveling my Defender (Basically a Tank Paladin) class? I am leveling with realistic leveling and Progress. I need my agility to go up but have no majors in it so the skill will never go up lol I guess ill have to add marksman or something....being staggered constantly end game is zero fun.

Stats in RL also reflect minor skills to some degree so you could work on your marksmanship, but a paladin would use buffs and enchants. You should be using something like LAME or SM to make fortify spells worth keeping up all of the time, along with enchantments.

im guessing LAME and SM are mods? ill look em up. cant seem to find LAME on nexus! and ya since I have restroation i could use buy some fortifly spells cause my agility (I am a Breton) is abyssmal atm lol. I will probly have to use custom armor if i go divine crusader cause its got zero agility buffs! :)

Less Annoying Magic Experience and Supreme Magicka. LAME is better when it comes to buff durations, so go with that or load it after SM if you use both. Make sure you RTFM.

Wrye made Wrye Bash.

question about LAME there is a SpellTomes_for_WryeBash.esp option. I do have WyreBASH but am not experienced using it...could someone tell me what the modder means in more laymen terms. This is what he/she says:

SpellTomes_for_WryeBash.esp: The name is a bit misleading. There are no spell "tomes" in it, just spell "notes" from J'shivrizza (the spell merchant in Skingrad). They can be randomly found throughout the game, and grant a new spell when lerned. There are more than hundred of them. Half of them are teaching new LAME exclusive spells, and half of them standard Oblivion spells. So you've got an another method to get spells - not only buying them, but also finding them! (The Shivering Isles tomes will only grant new spells, when you've got the strange door rumor, or found that door). WARNING: This module should only be used when you're using Wrye Bash, because it changes some levelling lists (it's adding the spell notes, d'oh). You need only to rebuild your patch. Otherwise there will be some override issues with other mods changing the same lists (e.g. OOO).

That means you need to merge leveled lists in your bashed patch. Read the readme for Bash, the whole thing.

The esp adds notes to the game, and when you read the notes, you learn new spells.

For it to work correctly, you rebuild your bashed patch and in the "Merge Patches" option, check this mod. When the bashed patch has been rebuilt, you can uncheck this esp (and will see a + sign), as it is fully merged into the bashed patch.

And since we're in a (partly) omod thread, note that LAME is very much easier to install if using my http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=25267.

alright downloaded the OMOD and was going to install it using obmm but when i try to install it with obmm i get "invalid argument to copy plug in file '00 main files/bgmagicEV.esp not part of the plug in" I downloaded and created the omod as I was told. (not the first time i do this.) Oddly enough it let me keep installing as normal...i did not as I wanted to ask what that was first.

It sounds like you did not create the omod as you were told then, since the content isn't found... Are you 100% sure you added the main LAME archive to the omod? When you right-click the omod and select "Info", does the "[Complete plugin list]" contain "00 Main Files\bgMagicEV.esp"?

Oddly enough it let me keep installing as normal...i did not as I wanted to ask what that was first.
You get a chance to abort in the end.

ok downloaded both files now. But I am not sure what this means . "In OBMM, create a new omod, click add archive for each of the two downloaded archives, and make the omod." So I create/ add archive for them individually? like 2?

No, create -> add archive -> choose archive -> add archive -> choose archive. You can add as many archives or folders or loose files, in any combination, that you want.

That means that the files you imported are not the files that the script was expecting. Is this theNiceOne's script?

Edit: You should simply be doing the following:

1. Launch OBMM
2. Click create OMOD
3. Click Add Archive.
4. Add the OMOD installer archive for LAME
5. Add the LAME Archive
That is it. Who cares if a JPG does not get installed anyway. The OMOD installer's page says LAME 1.7, so if you are downloading the latest version of LAME there should not be a discrepancy.
