Because people want the best gear so hardly anyone will bother with crafted goods if they can get better elsewhere.
16 hours a day.. and you you wonder why it was so quick over??? people with jobs and social lfe have maybe 16 hours the WEEK...
In the past, i thought it was weird that they said that you could get the best gear from just PvP.
Now it all makes sense. ESO will not feature any real progression PvE.
That would not be a problem if there was something else there that would replace progression PvE. We know that there is not. Basically the game is just about leveling to 50 + VR10 and maybe doing some PvP.
I guess ESO developers wanted to make another GW2,,,,, but with subscription.... LOL
I kinda agree with you.
There is only one problem:
"TES was never about just endgame"
But MMOs are. Okay, not JUST endgame, but it is a very important thing in MMOs.
GW2 is a good example of a MMO that tries to go against it.
You should make a thread about the hardships of raiders in a game that hasn't released.
this poeple should choose wildstar, it fits better to their playstyle i think... and im pretty sure this people WILL switch in june...
Eve is sandbox, but it is also incredibly isolated and boring. So boring.
It's very hard for an MMO to be sandbox-y. They did fairly well, I just don't think it was possible to make an mmo as sandbox-y as the other TES games. In a single player game or a game with a group of friends working together, you don't have to worry about balance nearly as much. But anything unbalanced in an MMO will be felt by the playerbase, or a portion of it, and it will ruin their experience.
Eve got away with it because it is so large and so isolated. Of course, I found myself frustrated trying to get a group with anyone in Eve, and bored grouping with my friends who were so much more powerful. Too many options can be problematic and leave players with no clue as to what they want from the game or what to do as they progress. I'm not against it, but Eve isn't the best example imo.
Not six characters you couldn't (without using boosts) and this is solo as well.
Although each expansion WoW gets easier as they want people to get to the latest content quicker.
They've outlined their content plans, and you're ignoring all of them but Trials I guess. So I think the answer is, this isn't the game for you. Why did you even start this thread anyway, just to complain it isn't the game you wanted it to be (whatever that was)?
GW2 is the second most active western MMO, so maybe your expectations are a little bit high.
I wasn't talking only about raids. There is no raids on GW2.
I was talking about your options when you reach the level cap or near it.
I don't understand the OP. There is:
- 2 other factions zones
- neverending AvA PvP
- 1st of Adventure Zones (I will bet me @ss there's gonna be more)
- trials, we still don't know how many and how structured
And all that OP is capable of doing is whining the game isn't like WoW? Go play Wildstar please so maybe the air around here gets cleaner.
So sick of people crying "gear, gear, gear, gear, gear, gear, gear, gear, gear, gear, gear, gear" and nothing else.
There's easily 350+ hours of content to be done in this game even without doing any PVP in Cyrodil and without Adventure Zones and Trials.
You don't even have to go through the game anymore. You just open your wallet and hand them sixty bucks and they will make your character a high enough level to do the new content.
Gear,gear,gear,gear,gear,gear,gear,gear,gear,gear,gear,pony.
People are in a "Rush to endgame" because that's what we have been taught.
I played, for a good amount of time (3 years player, 3 years volunteer admin) a mmo that focused entirely on player interactions and... pvp. There was no endgame as raiders and grinders might see it. They had levels and there was a reward (you became a dragon) when you hit max level, but levels were mostly irrelevant. Good pvp will keep a game going. Now, the playerbase was small, but all MMOs ultimately end up with a small playerbase. At some point people get bored and move on to the next MMO. The problem I have with the way MMOs normally deal with this is that they let the suits try to fix it. Business execs know how to bleed a game dry and get the most from it short term. They have no idea how to keep a loyal playerbase happy and coming back for more. In the game I played that I mentioned above, which was f2p, pay for perks, people would drop thousands, sometimes over ten thousand RL dollars over a few years. Now, I don't really like pay for perks as it gives a huge advantage to people with money but it was a ridiculously successful model. A new person took over control of the company and started sacrificing the game integrity for immediate monetary rewards and it left the playerbase jaded and unhappy. Also, they split their interest into more and more games over time, similar to EQ, EQ2, EQNext, etc. So instead one happy playerbase, they had multiple games with a fractured playerbase (and I don't feel like they added more players with each new game, it was just the same people splitting off.)
Anyway, my point is, we don't really need endgame content in the sense that other MMOs might have endgame content though I agree something needs to be there. But why should it be gear grinds and raids with lockouts. Most of the playerbase probably won't even actually be endgame for awhile. And those people that rush to endgame will jump ship fairly fast. They are not going to hang around loyally for years because they want the newest, shiniest MMO. The next MMO that comes out will snag their attention and they'll be gone.
And you are ignoring the fact that they have released no content with long term viability (and it didnt have to be progression Raiding by they way - it could have been something new and awesome). For endgame PvE they only have more questing and a more dungeons.
Trials was going to be their long term PvE - just like Raids made WoW survive and thrive for 9 years. They just turned their trials into just a leaderboard mini game that few people care about (basically Challenge Modes from WoW).
If you want to shut your eyes and close your ears and hope that people will just stick around for questing, dont let me stop you. For a subscription game, this is death.
Sandbox games can be good, but they need a good community to work properly.
Btw everyone is also forgetting about the Imperial City - I bet that one will open at some point as well.
Lol there is like 0 info on those, what are you, a savant?
