Project Tamriel...

It does not affect gameplay. You just see these things popping into/out of existence within fractions of a second. It's not so bad near the origin cell (0, 0), but it gets really bad as you travel great distances away. If you really think you could play a game where you have to spend a long time looking at that, you are a better man than me!

Anything would be better then the way I used to play it! on Xbox:
1) turn on, works 70% of the time
2) 20 minute load sequence
3) choose game for 10 minute load, crashes during this 10% of the time
4) hold controller so that the wire is in a specific position, otherwise it doesn't work (hand cramps galore)
5) about 10-20 minutes of game play before it crashes, sometimes I will turn it all back on and retry
6) about 1/10 crashes would happen on a save

and I still played this way on and off for 4 years D: I couldn't believe how fast it was when I started onto PC
love the game to death, and it dies a lot...

But anyway, one of the new projects should be able to fix it.

Thats how I always played this game xD
At first I tried to fix it, but ultimately gave up because its a miracle in itself that I can play Morrowind on this laptop, so I just accustomed myself to not notice it.

A matter of mind over matter, as they say.

So if thats the worst problem ill face when playing said map, by all means bring it on XD

PD: I have to admit though, I never had it as bad as eyes popping out of the head. Most of the time its just doors slipping inside walls for quick fun, swamps winking in and out of existence for a second (in a wait-what-nah-I-just-imagined-it way). Also, looking back, Seyda Neen is the only place where it is truly a dreadful thing. Other places seem to happen once in a full red moon...

My old laptop did that no matter the location. If I had so many things loaded everything would flicker. I think its more about the amount of things to render and remember than location from 0, 0. But thats just from my limited experience with it, I upgraded my laptop as soon as I could =-P.

The flickering that Undreamt and Zackg are mentioning was likely just caused by using a weak/old Intergrated video card. They are known for making doors/water/etc glitch in and out of existence... Even for vanilla Morrowind.

Wow, quite alot of posts ive missed.

@ john.moonsugar
I doubt it has anything to do with different cards that you see problems with graphics. in fact im sure its not, and the problems arent even as servere as you say they are, they only thing that happens is that PC's and NPC's twitch more and mroe the further away you get from 0, 0. And as for the screens you posted, it looks like they are interiors and you just sank the objects into the wall and floor. And like you say, one of the new projects, or engines will more than likely fix this, and i think if there is enough interest people will have build a fair bit by then and hopefully one of the new engine projects will atleast be in BETA.

I have about 4 PC's all with different spec, Two high end ones and two low end ones, none of these suffer from the problems you have shown, and i have tested A HELL OF ALOT!

@ haplobartow
Your very right, and im glad you should mention that, any "flickering issues" will more than likely be fixed with a new engine, or code patch possibly, but i shouldnt think MGE would. A new engine definatley would.

@ ShaddowT
Yes you may certainly help out, i would recommend checking out the Skyrim project and talking to Lestat possibly, see if he needs any more help, and there are a few other members of the forum who may be working on a province you may be interested in. If they speak out im sure they could do with a hand in some respect

The problem of z-fighting is well documented, but you don't have to believe me if you don't want to.

Yes, the pictures look like interiors because it's from Arktwend, where they actually built some interiors in exterior cells. They were good examples of the problem, as it does affect my particular card. I most certainly did not sink the objects into the walls myself. But you don't have to believe me if you don't want to.

I didnt say i dont beleive you atall. And like i said, i have tested every possible fault that could occur. I wouldnt be trying to tell you this if i hadnt tested everything extensively. I have noticed to problems with collision that you don't notice in vanilla, and there are no problems with fighting atall. The only thing i have seen is that the player can become twitchey, along with NPC's and creatures, everything else looks perfectly fine on all four of my PC's

ED: And sorry John im not trying to argue in the slightest, but i have noticed no problems on neither my high end PC nor my low end PC, and i have done all the same extensive tests on both

Don't be discouraged by the "promotion" for TR, it is simply to show that you have the CS abilities to do some work for the project. Just make some little fun mod you have wanted to make and toss it at them for your showcase and get yourself on board :)

Not sure if anyone has opted to pick that one up yet, I actually have Summerset Isles on my PC at the moment and have been doing some work for that (only one on that project), and I think someone took Hammerfell too (might be wrong), plus there is TR and Skyrim.

Unfortunatley none of the projects really have a site sorted out yet apart from Tamriel rebuilt, http://morrowind-skyrim.com/ and http://s1.zetaboards.com/Province_Cyrodiil/index/

But if you ask around, im sure people will be in need of a hand. What sorta stuff do you know how to do in the editor?

EDIT: How's work going by the way Red Eye? I look forward to seeing what youve come up with, no matter what the size :)

And Midget Alien took my hammerfell map to work on.
I love how all the TR members stalk this thread when anything is mentioned

I can do interior design, towns/large cities, quest ideas, if someone shows me how I can do dialog, some landscaping (depends on what you need), and am learning modeling/animation.
Skyrim would be cool.

Gah, I knew I forgot one - thanks for correcting me :)

And Midget Alien took my hammerfell map to work on.

Slow but sure, due to issues with my PC I have been derailed somewhat, but I have a massive collection of conceptual pictures built up and some assorted resources collected. I am probably going to try my hand at making some new models and the sort here soon (as I am taking the stance of I will be the only one working on this particular province, pessimistic but keeps me better resolved until I have things better sorted with a website for the project and start acquiring a team).

And I had forgotten who took Hammerfell, but yes, it is Midge - which I look forward to seeing :)

I'll help.
Also what is a showcase?

Summerset has the Altmer (High Elf) as the predominant population, and I would be happy to have help when I get myself to a more stable point in the project.

As for the showcase, take a look at TRs site, they have all the info you will need there.
