All right I have a small idea hope it'll work I'll make a small town with about 10-15 houses in and out imperial style (a bit bigger than Syeda Neen) a small quest with a gold reward and some npc players.
Would that work for a show case?

I would suggest you work on your own mods and improving your skills, first, if you are still learning
not trying to insult you or anything, but most of the project tamriel modders have multiple years of modding under their belts and standards are higher
in a team effort if one member's skill aren't up to par then it could cause trouble
now, it's not like I'm telling you to stop modding, eventually you could join one of the teams, as much as I hate to say it, I don't see this becoming completed any time soon.

No offence taken whatsoever I perfectly understand but I will make the town post some screenshots and ask if it's worthy thanks though.

Hey Lestat, been a bit busy with RL, and been working on my own projects. I also picked up on my Amanita project again the other day after installing Windows 7, and its a dream, ive had no problems with any software in windows 7 :D

As for project Tamriel, a couple of regions are being worked on as you know, and they have it upto themselves to do what they want and give updates on what they're doing.

I'm sure most of it is building up tilesets and getting people interested. It was never intended to be a quick project :P

As soon as i have finished my mod i will continue working on falkreath. RL has just been a bit heavy lately. :(

Ok, so let me get this straight...

The team intends to recreate the WHOLE of TAMRIEL?

Well, that would me more than awesome, but it would take 10 years or so...? Look at Tamriel Rebuilt and their struggle to recreate the province of Morrowind (with attention to detail matching the original game). The only reasonable way of doing this would be (as SGMonkey stated) to coordinate the actions of those independant teams working on whole provinces (I know of 3 such endeavours, TR - Morrowind, zackg - Argonia/Cyrodiil and Lestat - Skyrim).

Sheesh... good luck on this one.

 Yeah, heard that before mate :P

And i and a few others will probably agree that it shouldnt really take that long, just to do the landmass exteriors atleast. And in my opinion and a few others TR have taken way too long to do what they've done

But if you fancy lending your chaos hand then it would be more than welcome :P

Those province: cyrodill screens are amazing. But is the morrowind engine going to be able to handle that? That is alot of geometry in one screen.

Grrrr... seriously, im getting pretty sick of all these questions. Yes it works fine. If your computer can handle it, the engine can, aslong as you don't set MGE ridiculously high

I disagree; I think that considering the detail, scale and quality of the TR team's released work, plus (as I can only imagine) the tremendous amount of as-yet unreleased work, the time taken seems about right.

Good luck to you guys in working on this, however! I'm always reminding myself to look east toward Tamriel Rebuilt, but maybe some day that will be south and west to other provinces as well ;)

Speaking of which, if i try create distant land for Cyrodil and any other region it tells me that there is insufficient memory. If you try and load too many with MGE it just don't work. The most ive managed to create distant land for is summerset isles, valenwood and elsweyr. I also managed Highrock and Skyrim.

Obviously this is an MGE limitation, not a morrowind engine limitation. Hopefully one day this will be resolved, ive not looked into MGE to solve it myself.

For those interested, I have come up with a very good way to create mountains using grey scale height maps. I'm currently working on High Rock and its looking rather nice. Now its just a case of getting the hills and mountains in the right places :)

Hey guys the work you have committed to seems great! I would love to get involved!

I'm not very experienced with morrowind modding in general, BUT, I am extremely handy with photoshop if I do say so myself. I can do textures, concept artwork... anything that involves 2d images. I'm pretty quick with learning software so it really wouldn't be a problem to learn some 3d modeling tools so I could create meshes as well. I know you guys don't need the extra weight of teaching anyone anything so I wouldn't ask that, but if you direct me to the necessary software I will learn and eventually produce quality stuff. Just let me know where to direct myself to to get involved and I would be more than happy to do some photoshop work.

Also, I'v seen people talking about quests and story and lore (which in my opinion shouldn't be cared much for yet) and I was thinking maybe Bethesda themselves wouldn't mind helping out with some of that stuff, that would be pretty amazing. Perhaps they could even provide insight into their development process... I don't think they would mind lending a few ideas to "us" and I think it would be very helpful.

I'm glad a community exists like this... and I'm glad you have chosen to work with morrowind instead of oblivion. Its exciting to think that eventually this stuff might be done and there might be collaboration between you, TR, OpenMW and the like, Bethesda might not have to make games anymore lol.

EDIT:

Oh and armor/weapons/creatures concept stuff would be great fun for me... great stuff for the portfolio too!
And I'll be building my powerhouse desktop hopefully by the end of the summer so if anyone is having trouble performing large tasks (like rendering distant land or w/e) I will be able to lend some processing power for that.

I'll be honest I'v never done it before, but after looking into a brief intro on it on the webs it looks rather simple. White means high and black means low ammirite? So ya, go ahead throw some work at me! Perhaps you can give me some samples of already completed work so I can match up with that and see exactly what I'm shooting for. Also, do I need to get 3D max or something to look at what I'm creating in actual 3D?
