[IDEA] Project Tamriel...

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 4:36 pm

My only concern with the work ive done so far is MGE, i need MGE to be able to create distant land for any ammount of land :(, at the moment, MGE will only allow me to create distant land for 2-3 regions at a time, depending on their size.

Whereas Morrowind will happily run all of them loaded at once, in total there is roughly 350mb of plugins. The biggest being Cyrodil

EDIT: Keep the questions and comments coming :)

Id recommend, for testing purposes, using yacobys mesh generator to place statics all over and then putting it into Morrowind n seeing how well morrowind runs it. And to find out of the "if you are so far from 0,0 everything shakes" rumor is true, as Ive yet to see anybody reproduce that result.

If Strokend would be so kind as to upload it to GooTube it would be very much appreciated :D

Ahhhh, easy mistake really :S

Ha ha... well at the minute 60% of people who voted are in favour of the idea.

Keep the votes coming please, and if you don't think its a good idea, or you have any reason to beleive it wont work, please post your comments here :)

i am feeling positive about this, it could work and those that have voted in the 60% must agree with me when i say that it will only work if people put the work in.

Yes we could all vote "great idea but too much work" - and then the great idea would never get done. I am willing to put the work in.

Unless you need certain sections of the regions surrounding regions for making hills on the border

Basically for making the necessary border's seamless

Well if you would be so kind as to make me a .ini for it to place statics on the -default- texture then let me know, else i have to texture every single cell in the region :P

Well i was thinking that one group could do one each, but i see no reason why you couldn't do two

But we will keep it to one region each for now, may as well, it's loads of work anyway :P

haha i didnt want to do two!!

I jsut wanted to know that in the CS its only going to be ONE province. Not all at once in the same ESP and then i just work on one provience. I.e I download the file and load it up in the CS and its JUST Hammerfell.

Yeah its just hammerfell, but i tell you what i could do, I could merge all the surrounding areas and just draw a black line where the border line is so you can see what youve got to work with, and some surrounding cells :)

nah dont do that lol thats what i am trying to avoid - downloading all provinces.

Just Hammerfell will do. I have hunted all over the net and have i gathered ALOT of resources. Some might require a pm to a modder or two. BUT i have alot ready for a "Objects of Hammerfell" esp :D - So i am just gonna wait for Hammerfell first before i do that

Also, I did offer my hand at Tamriel rebuilt, but i didn't feel welcome

Yeah, they can do that to a person. I felt the same way...

I think this is a cool idea, Regarding the rumor about everything shaking when you get so far away from 0,0. I'm not sure what that effect is, but I have begun to notice with my Azurian Isles, that my test player's armor kind of jerks around a little. Its annoying but not game-breaking in my book. And I'm not sure if it effects NPCs or not.

Good luck Midgetalien! As far as resources go, I got permission to use an Oblivion desert architecture resource a while back, perhaps if you PMed the author you could downgrade the meshes for Rihad...
