All regions are to scale.
Some border's need matching up slightly.
Is anyone interested?

And so far, i having messed about for a week, and i have to say ive not noticed any graphical errors.
The only graphical error is me setting the view distance and fog a bit weird in the videos :P

Um... that doesn't answer what this is. I don't trust MegaUpload, so I can't watch the videos. What exactly is this mod?

Perhaps terrain for the regions? Using heightmaps? If you are suggesting remaking those provinces. Good luck :goodjob: :)

Ha! Thanks alot :) but i wasn't planning on doing it all by myself, i was thinking more of a community based thing.

EDIT: And i already have Hammerfell (to scale) sitting nicely next to Highrock and Skyrim

I created half of the land for The Azurian Isles using height maps. They save a LOT of time!

EDIT: Just watched the vids: Those are pretty nifty, but couldn't you generate hills/mountains for them? Instead of just the one height? I'm not sure what files you used to generate those, though so its just a suggestion.

I would recommend sticking to hand making hills and mountains, it all gets far too complicated else

Ive tried with many different formats and command lines and it always turn into the bottom of a large tunnel with spikes at the end

I've found that generating the grey map will give you the tiered hills. But then you can do a smooth terrain on them and they turn out nicely. But it is a little more complicated for higher mountains, which you are right, may be better done by hand.

Give it a go, try make highrock :)

Then let me see what command line you used and what kind of image too

How did you figure out how to make the maps to scale? Is it mentioned somewhere?

Why is it all cliffs when it goes from land to water? If you fall, how can you get back up?

Also, for those of you who aren't keeping check on the first post, SGM updated the links to the youtube bits that I put up for him. No more need to download.

Because it's just a layout, and you would just use "tcl" in the console, because at the minute their only fit for testing

There are no gradient hills yet

I am basically just putting this out as a gesture mainly to anyone thinking of starting to create a group of modder's similar to TR and create an entire region

Each group could work on each region

Wonderful idea. I've wanted this sort of basic template for a long time, but never thought that anyone would make one. I would love to download a mod like this (ideally with Morrowind's coast included too) and just spend years adding in my own details, recreating everything however I might wish. Ideally, you could even relocate the map so that 0,0 is more toward the center of the continent, avoiding the possibility of glitches.

I'd second the request for a little more terrain detail, like mountains and hills, but I would certainly take and use this resource regardless. Thank you for creating this amazing piece of work!

I've been musing at some of lightwave's other programs. At the bottom of the http://www.projectmanager.f2s.com/morrowind/TESAnnwyn/index.html is a dl for his tiny-scaled Cyrodiil. Maybe it helps a little?

IIRC LazyGhost had worked out how to use grey scale height maps to create smooth terrain with hills, mountains and shore lines....

I'll see if I can dig up the post....

Ok see here > http://www.gamesas.com/bgsforums/index.php?showtopic=1018345&hl=

Hope that helps some.

edit - it'd be interesting to a degree to get the terrain and then use Yacoby's static placer to try and cover the place with flora and rocks and things. To do it by hand will take a proverbial month of Sundays.

It worked fine for Argonia.. (this is just one/fourth of it though)

Granted, Argonia is intended to be more flat, but making mountains n stuff arent difficult. I use the Oblivion CS to create the heightmap and then convert it with tesannwyn. Or tesfaith. Its been a while I dont remember lol/.
