Projectile Nodes and multiple firing position effects

A couple of the robot followers I'm doing / planning on doing have multiple firing positions, it was fine for the Dalek's their "Equip weapon" animations were only different by what projectile node was addressed in the .kf, . Now for Vincent his arms extend out when he equips a weapon and that means if he switches from one projectile node to the other so he can fire from each alternatively then the arms are going to animate in and out even though he only switches sides to fire from, this would look weird!

So can I get the effect to fire from both at once? If I make my own custom laser beam up which has a visual effect simulating fire from both arms at once then I evade this issue but visually it might (depending on range) look like only one beam hits and he's a bad shot.
