prone

It's a grenade that causes knockdown, you even see the grenade indicator.

honestly in those videos (specially first one) i dont think there going prone.
looks like crouching cause when they showed off the leaning out of cover in other clips
its the same height drop on screen then latter in the first video he drops same distance and follows the bot

but thats just my Opinion

You might be right. Well then we'll just have to wait and see. Hopefully there won't be prone though.

Agreed, and thanks for the source.

In a game where it's fasted pace objective to objective style play, prone would be useless anyway

30 seconds into this video he goes prone and I know he wasn't knocked down cuz he didn't lose any health

That's a slide. However, he gets stuck on the ground there (or perhaps the gate - even though it's a little further away) and doesn't move forward. But it's still the slide.

I know I discussed that some month ago already. Sadly, I can't find my post to simply quote it.

With Prone people always start camping in a corner and the moment someone walks by they start shooting and get the most kills I think it would ruin the game if prone would be in.

I understand this, but if people want to go for kills, they are going to go for kills.

I agree that prone would just tempt them to do it further(go for kills that is), but if a person is K/D minded they are going to just kill regardless.

Prone is by definition face down, just so you all are aware. :)

And dropshots take skill to pull off and in my mind do not equate to cheating or seizing some sort of unfair advantage, so I'm all for wanting them in Brink.

No, no, a thousand times no. The last thing Brink needs is a feature like this that is practically tailor-made for campers. It would just open up a whole can of worms that would slow down the gameplay and annoy a lot of players.

Prone changes game dynamics to much. They tried it in BC2 but saw it lead to game play they where not looking for so they took it out. It does promote camping and less team orientated game style along with slowing down the flow of the game. I also say NO to prone especially if you have a bone.

I don't see why not. I wouldn't use it, but if you want to then yeah, fine. I'll be moving to fast to ever go prone!

IT would be unrealistic for heavies to go prone, and with all the armor on each player, it further makes it improbable for prone. I wouldn't mind having it in though- I could go either way.

No. Because Prone encourages camping and drop shoting.

As long as I can slide behind something and use it for cover I'm good. Unless you're camping there's no real reason to use prone. Prone takes away a lot of mobility for cover that a smart man could find in crouch.

I honestly think the crouch slows the game down too much. Prone is a definite no-no.

Why would you want prone in a fast paced run and gun FPS game? It's totally out of place.

Well just slide shot, but there will be a huge accuracy loss.

you are the kind of person that makes games annoying to people like me.

Great for balancing. But slide tackles will be a strategic advantage. Unless it's a 3 on 1 and your the 1......

Ugh.

There are different abilities, different weapons, and different objectives for a reason. The game is going to go at different paces for different players, it's going to be played with different styles. There are going to be rushers, campers, loners, groupers, and they're all going to play a part.

Prone isn't going to change how people play, it's just a feature that benefits some types of players just like SMART will benefit others.

Is this going to become one of those gaming communities where "run and gun" is the highly accepted play style and slow movers and defensive players are just going to be shunned?
