No not really since it is a fast paced game, and I have no time to lay down.

I guess a technical moving prone. Sliding decrease accuracy,

seems like it would mostly be used for sniping, which is slightly discouraged in Brink.

Prone encourages camping. Brink discourages camping. I say no.

only reason i can see it as a yes would be to get into a corner and hide

I doubt that it will be included because it is so late in development and we have seen absolutely nothing to suggest this, but it would be cool to have shortcuts in the form of air ducts or something that you would need to go prone to go through. I agree that this is a fast paced game, but with the addition of a few short crawl spaces you could really make the game a whole lot more interesting (not that it is at all boring right now mind you!)

Just make a short slide space that lights could manage,

it could be useful if someone is trying to use SMART manually, like maybe you combine it with sprint and you slide, but I think they might already have a key combo for that.

No, as you don't seem to slide on your belly so much as your side. It appears to be more or less a baseball slide from all the footage I've seen.

I happen to like prone, but I like slow movements, increased accuracy, and staying out of sight.

Yup hold Sprint/SMART button then hit the crouch and you slide.

I think it would be pretty cool for a prone option, with all the free movement.

Nope. That fits like a square peg in a round hole. Brink is too fast-paced to let you lie down.

Actually, Splash Damage is trying to avoid it like the plague.

No, I just want sliding, crouch down position, and nothing else.

No prone means no drop-shots. Which is a good thing.

The skilled people will manage to get into a slide quickly, but requires more than pressing one button.

I think there is prone because I was watching a gameplay vid from Pax 2010 and at around 30 seconds into the video the screen drops down and goes blurry and the reticule is gets huge. Also there is an image of him going prone in red as he did it. I guess it's only used as a means of cover behind lower objects though

I also saw the same thing in one of the vids from Pax 2011 so unless they take it out in the final game it there is prone

There is no prone, you are probably confusing it with knockdown/incapiticaption.

30 seconds into this video he goes prone and I know he wasn't knocked down cuz he didn't lose any health

About 1:35 seconds into this vid, I don't think he was knocked down either because I saw no significant health loss
