Proof of massive destruction and Physics

Post » Sat Jan 01, 2011 4:15 pm

So lately, everyone has been fiddling around with the question, "will Crysis 2 have good destruction and physics?" The answer is yes! Definatly yes and heres plenty of proof I found for everyone. I hope this will clear thing up a bit.

The first is some planks that split up into pieces when the player shot them in some multiplayer video. This is a really good example.

Planks after: http://i1188.photobucket.com/albums/z406/Ark50/Planks2.jpg

Second comes the building. I know what you thinking "buildings prob. cannot be blown up because too much space and bla" but this tells differently.

Building after: http://i1188.photobucket.com/albums/z406/Ark50/Building2.jpg
(video can be found at Crytek.com)

Third comes this wall blowing up. Look carefully. Also, this video i found is some really awesome first person gameplay without the etided songs and stuff.

Wall After: http://i1188.photobucket.com/albums/z406/Ark50/Circle2.jpg

Fourthly and lastly comes the pillars. These are really great and easy to see so ill just give the vid.

go to 1:50 and watch from there. the pillars come in 3 seconds. I hope you guys emjoy the evidence i gave you :D

I think the Wall and the building one are scripted events.

I'm glad they added some destruction, and didn't make it over the top.
Maybe the already have this in, but i would like a lot of movable objects in the game, like in Half Life 2, where say a gunship flew above you boxes and empty cans would move around by the wind. That just adds to immersion.

Also, the building destruction is definitely scripted.

Yeah, but there's a big difference between scripted physics and world destruction. A cutscene or a scripted event will always run in the same way, and that's why open environment destruction is a lot more impressive: it's all dynamic.

Pretty nice evidence huh guys? Everything exept the buildings in the game will not have scripted physics. And who cares... we will all find out on the 25th. Well i will at least. :D
