Prophet: don't have Vampire Seduction power

Post » Fri Nov 16, 2012 6:16 am

Hi

I'm playing the vampire side of Dawnguard, and have got as far as the Prophet quest. Unfortunately, I don't seem to have the Vampire Seduction power. The wiki says I should get it temporarily if I didb't have it anyway, but no. I've waited four days to see if I would get it naturally, but no.

I cannot proceed with this quest at the moment, and would very much like a fix.

I'm running a few mods, but none that affect vampirism (at least, not as far as I know!).

player.addspell 000C4DE2 should add the seduction power directly

Hmmm, tried that, and did get the power, but when I fed the moth priest didn't go into any dialogue. I used the setstage command in the wiki, which seemed to advance the quest, but when I fast travelled to the castle to test it had worked, the entire clan is now hostile.

I do have a previous save (leaving redwater), but reloading that and waiting four days I didn't get seduction naturally, so am concerned there's a more serious bug at issue here.

Tried unloading all mods, but no joy. I think the only mod I have that affects faction relations is convenient horses, and as far as I'm aware that only affects horses.

Thanks for resonding so quick, but looks like I still have a problem.

Edit: well, I've now deleted the game locally and reinstalled, having removed all mods, and that hasn't helped.

I can only conclude that this particular vampire has just taken a well-placed stake through the heart. I've also read (while trying to fix this) that because this character has barely started the main quest, there's another fatal bug waiting in the sidelines (BIT of a cataclysmic oversight, Bethesda!). This is a great game, abosrbing and entertaining, but these kind of bugs, which effectively negate many hours of play, never cease to be infuriating.

Ah well, thanks for trying to help.
