Proposal For the World's Greatest Game

Post » Sat Sep 05, 2009 3:10 am

Hey guys. I have written up a proposal to make the world's greatest game. It's only half finished though so I could use your advice, I've got images and stuff so I can't post it all here.

Here's a link:
*link removed re: censored language.

Any feedback is highly appreciated! =D

(I'm hoping that with some fine tuning, we can send this to Bethesda, and the other big publishers and see if they'll make it!)

- The player starts off with a level cap of 10. To increase this, they will need to purchase DLC.

I haven't bothered reading the rest, but that is an absolutely terrible idea.

Edit: Nevermind, I just had to read a little further to realize it was a joke. Not sure if I should laugh, or cry because this will one day become reality.

I'm slow today.

Hmm, I can see why people would object. How about 20 then?

Too much Fallout 3 bashing for my blood. We have an entire forum dedicated to that called the Fallout: New Vegas forum, I suspect you'd get a lot of high-fives over there.

The rest was funny though.

Dear sir,

I am a Nigerian Banker. Send me your bank details and I will place many millions of dollars into your bank account which will allow you to create this game.

AntiBody - ??? I'm simply emulating one of the top selling games of all time... (There's actually more mention of Gears of War than anything else imo)

Aevar - Nah bro, I need Bethesda to make it so people will take it seriously!

The second mode is online deathmatches and other classic shooter gametypes.
DLC

I think I would add in that the game has 1 map for online, and any subsequent maps will have to be purchased. I think a good price for these would be 400 Microsoft Points (considering Modern Warfare 2's map pack is an average of 240 per map and that sold like hotcakes).

I think you need to add some DLC to activate the game. People just expect to be able to play a game right out of the box, they need a good surprise once in a while.

Don't forget to port it to Wii, PSP, and PC (If it's a console "exclusive"). Everybody deserves to relentlessly spend their hard-earned cash on this!

Note: And to make life hard for the pirates, don't bother giving the game any gamepad compatibility and don't change the UI.

You're a genius! Plus, if people buy it used, we can be sure to get money =)

I noticed there wasn't any subscription fee listed. Every great game needs a subscription fee, at least $15 a month. Even better if you introduce the fee after people have already bought it.

At the very last moment, our hero has to choose whether to save all other sentient life in the galaxy, or [censored] Megan Fox. It is assumed that most players will go with the second ending.

I had to keep myself from busting out laughing at this part, people are sleeping :P

It's a very funny and also very frightening obersvation of modern gaming culture...The worst part is that I can see someone wanting to publish this, and I can see people wanting to buy this.

Perhaps in the next part I'll detail 4 different levels of subscription, free, 5$ a month, 10$ a month, and 15$ a month, each with varying features.

Good idea though =)

On second thought, go ahead and send it to Bethesda, I'm sure they will be  as well.

Did I mention this was funny?

As sad as that is...People seem to buy games just because of their titles and "back of the box" features. I'd like to know just how many (Or few) people researched into some of them before putting down the $60 (Or equivalent to that in other currencies).

In a way, it is better than before, where there were hardly any reviews and you had to just hope for the best, but the reviews are biased and often give too much praise and not enough constructive criticism. Know how many times I've seen "It's only a minor flaw, and the rest of the game is so great that it can be overlooked" in reviews? A lot. No, it can't be overlooked. Who the hell would say that? Aren't we supposed to be fixing and improving things?

I'm glad you liked it. Hopefully Bethesda will too, my future financial situation depends on it =/

I'm still trying to get over the Gibson double neck, I just keep imagining sawing my fingers off in the middle of Stairway to Heaven. Damn you, it's disturbing.

You're missing Lucario if it had that, it would be an instant buy.
