prosttute's guild

Post » Wed Sep 01, 2010 3:39 pm

.....so what does your character do in the prosttutes guild? I mean do you act as a pimp? collect money? Use their services? I mean i don't understand what you need this guild for, or is it a background thing like the club in morrowind, or do you just go in to get quest from the creepy guys who hang out there all day?

Well I hope we can use their services as we all know them. Doing a quest or two for their boss may be nice, but I'm more interested in [censored] than sterile talk.

Hahaha funny idea. :P

Well if there was to be included something like that would have to be done well.
I mean I wouldn't want a prosttute's guild and have to watch characters having six while wearing their clothes, like in Mass Effect 2.
But IF there was a game that you could have six nvde then such a game would get under heavy fire by things like Fox News.
The idea might be funny, but I don't think anything like that will make it in to the game.
Perhaps some modders will make a mod like that, but I doubt any developer buissiness would do something like that,at least for the time being.

If they did add in prosttute services all it would be is a fade to black, you'd be lucky to get in some actor/actresses bored grunts. IF they added in clubs, i think it would be better if they did dancers instead, Mass effect style

Well, I don't see a problem with some conversation that hints at their services, but why do you need to have animated six in a video game? Can't you just go rent porm, or use your imagination? I think it's a little bit absurd to have cartoon six in a game. But I guess that's just my opinion...

Unless there was an in game benefit of having six, like in the newer Fallouts, GTA III, etc. Im all for RP mechanics that are just that and have no in game benefits, but fake video game six isn't one of those mechanics.

Haha.
I don't think it's a must by a longshot but I think it would be funny to be included in a game for the same reason we don't watch a movie with dragons and swords but we want to play the game.
Because gaming is better than watching passively.

By all means I don't want it animated lol! I want this option to be there like in Fo3 or The Witcher, for role playing sake not to see naked argonians lol. It's a matter of world coherence, for me its the same with carriage transport vs fast travel. Can't I just use fadt travel and imagine I used a horse or a silt strider or something? Of course I can, but its way cooler to actually see a carriage, talk to the driver, pay, and then its the same with fast travel: loading and voila, you're there. But it's more alive, more believable, I don't know... it just makes sense. Same with prosttutes, of course they can just be a few dancers in a delight house, but I prefer to have the options to go further and talk, negociate, pay and [censored] them, it's not important that the screen goes black, it's the role playing involved before and after: the choice, the talk, the money, the gain or loss of reputation...

I know it,
but that doesn't mean that I agree with it.

It's not that much that I want six in this particular game, but I think that generally we and the developers should be more open-minded regarding six.

I know there is this misconception that videogames are strictly for young kids, but I wish the industry was more mature and had less tabboos.

And I know that there are hypocrites like Fox News that consider the fact that a videogame has a six scene a matter of journalistic importance, while 80% of the movies we watch have six,or imply that six is happening in indirect fashion... :spotted owl:

prosttutes Guild? Aw hell naw! Nord [censored]es be interferin' with my Dunmer's pimpin'. Dem' hoes don't need no damn guild. 'Dey need a firm pimp hand across the face to teach them their proper place, on dem' corners. Let my N'wah worry about the bizness, dem' hoes just need to work those corners and not worry about "rights" and [censored]. :run:

On a more serious note, I couldn't care whether or not there is a prostitution guild in the game.

I don't think the OP meant for the game to have animated six scenes. This is about introducing every kind of trade that should be present, including prostitution. Besides, without a guild there would probably be a six slave ring and skooma [censored]s. Promote women's rights and implement a guild! I could visit the butcher for some sausage, the brewer for some mead, and then hit the bordello for some release. I could try to work for the prostitution guild as a manager, bouncer, or prosttute or there could be a quest line to break up the guild by addicting the workers to skooma, taking out key administrators, or whatnot in order for some evil person to monopolize the industry with an abusive underground six trafficking ring. Perhaps I could be hired to find and eliminate the evil ring to relieve pressure from the guild. Think of the possibilities!

EDIT: I really do not think that the guild should be associated with thieves, because it would be bad for business if clients find out and think they might get taken advantage of while their pants are down. Plus I do not think the Thieves guild is interested in legitimate business practices. I think the thieves would prefer for no guild so they can use the women as distractions while hitting people's homes, picking pockets, etc....

This would be great since I am in fact a prosttute in real life, I bet I'd make one hell of a prosttute in Skyrim!

(edit) prosttutes in the game would make it a more believable, gritty world, but a guild?!

Ok, this has gone down the political discussion far past what the forum rules allow (which is none) and pretty far to pushing the point of appropriateness for a 13+ forum for comfort.

For those reasons, it's closed.
