prosttute's guild

Post » Wed Sep 01, 2010 11:36 pm

Since they are the only guild that is both supported by the government (being imperially chartered) and supported by the predominant religion of the continent (the nine divines), why aren't we seeing their guildhalls and representatives around? We know that they can have prosttute guilds in games, as they had them in Daggerfall and Assassin's Creed 2 and such, so it isn't some weird esrb thing. Support the lore and make this happen!

Also I would support the various other guilds mentioned which may be irrelevant due to the cracked empire, including Tinkers, Cobblers, Scribes, Architects, Brewers, Vintners, Weavers, Ratcatchers, Furriers, Cooks, Astrologers, Healers, Tailors, Minstrals, Barristers, and the Syffim. They might even combine some of them, like astrologers who read your fate while catching the rats at your house. Or tailors who touch you in a special way while they're down there and make you spend more than you'd like to. Minstrals who go to court as barristers and plead your case in song.

I'm not sure if this is really something to discuss here because while the main series might be rated M and all, the forum is not.

That said, I don't want a "guild" for this. That's just silly.

This.

And I won't be surprised if this thread gets locked pretty quickly...

EDIT: Wow, it's still going... Guess I was wrong...

Ok, I think this is a really stupid idea and a waste of forum space.

Woot.

It's too late for that, right? Daggerfall came out 15 years ago, and the lore on the guilds is still in the books included with Morrowind and Oblivion.

Also, we're discussing having the guild, not what they'll do. We already have temples of Dibella, are you really expecting worse out of the guild than out of the temple? I'm sure the temple people have more style.

This.

And I won't be surprised if this thread gets locked pretty quickly...
I don't see why, these guilds are backed by lore and should be in the game already. Not necessarily joinable, but there are lots of unjoinable factions.

Better?
Yes. False apologies are just really weird.

Ok, I think this is a really stupid idea and a waste of forum space.
Even though it is Bethesda's idea? It's not like I wrote their books for them.

I wouldn't mind. I mean, it's not like Bethesda hasn't done prosttutes before. They let Obsidian put in a nipble tape outfit for god's sake.

I'd like other guilds too.
Ranger's Guild- Sort of like huntsmen who live of nature, but respect it.
Mercenary/Assassin's Guild- Contracts for assassinations, battles, and whatnot.

I'd also like to join various cults of Daedric and Aedric gods.

Sure. Just as background stuff, though. No using the guild, or really joining it. But for the sake of a better world, yes.

Maybe one quest in something like a skooma-dealer undergound-type faction should have some prosttute or something. but not a whole faction dedicated to the world's oldest profession. That's just too much.

How would it not fit? It's a medieval fantasy RPG. I say it fits perfectly. (and its in the lore)

I can certainly see it being part of the game

Just not a very big part and probably fairly subtle as it doesn't seem like Bethesda is really interested in pushing the limits-At least when it comes to sixually orientated material.

Yah, as much as I think this could be played well and Bethesda likely has the tools to work with it...
Gaming studios don't want the publicity it would bring.

Because it wouldn't fit as a guild man. If it was something reminiscent to the House of Earthly Delights in Suran from Morrowind, then I would reconsider what I said. And that place only had female dancers. Something like this prosttute house fits in something like Fallout instead. six really isn't a main focus of the Elder Scrolls and never really has been. They design every building with the intention of the player wandering in there and seeing what they can do in that area. This means that they would probably offer "services", and that's not something that's ever been a staple in an Elder Scrolls game. The only thing I can see them having is an area for prosttutes inside of a tavern, not an [censored]-house devoted to them. Something like this would be more relevant to Nordic culture, but even then they wouldn't offer anything to the player.

Yeah, no using the services of the guild. That isn't necessary, in my opinion.

Doesn't have to be "guild" it's just like a brothel. I could fully see this being in Skyrim, especially with it being a barbaric, mystical land.

Bar wenches, but no prosttutes. Sorry, but I just don't see the point. There are other things that could add more to the experience, but this doesn't really help anyone except lonely perverted men.
