prosttutes

I think that prostitution would be a cool feature if Beth adds sixual intercourse, but they won't be plentiful, maybe there would be one or two in each city that would show up on certain nights.

:celebration:

I think it would be perfectly feasible as a gaming option. In fact, in an open world, mature themed, "living world" game like Skyrim, the absence of it would be rather conspicous.

We know that other Beth games have had it, and that Prostitution and even Prostitution guilds are very much a part of Elder Scrolls lore and history. To say nothing of it being a part of "real life" history that dates back, in various forms, well into prehistoric times and is even evidenced among other social mammals. :read: :grad: :hubbahubba: :celebration:

All that said, don't be surpriesed if you get a lot of stupid hostility and derision from hypocrites who, after complaining about you having a broken moral compass for wanting such blatant sixual themes in the game, will then run off to start there own threads about how there should be more gore and dismemberment animations.

People "need" Dwemer ruins, Spears, Arena, why not prostitution? As Internet existed at that time, Bethesda and Obsidian did wrong then with FO3 and FNV?

Apparently my response went over your head, and now you are taking it quite seriously instead of with the humor I intended.

EDIT: BTW, that underlined part in my post you responded to? That was a link.

Are you serious? 'Sigh' Look below us

At the ground?

Romance and marriage are confirmed, along with practical benefits of a companion and gofer, plus some kind of buff. No mention of sixual content that I've seen.

From the Nerdtrek Q&A they did have this to say tho, which is the closest item I could find:

There are hundreds of people that you CAN marry, if they want to marry you. They can become your companion. Having a companion offers awesome perks. Your wife can fight by your side, helping you attack or defend. She can carry stuff for you increasing your inventory capacity. She can cook for you once a day increasing your health. There are many “Lovers’ bonuses” available. Possibly the BEST thing: you can delegate tasks and send your followers to do things for you, such as attack, collect food, buy weapons, and more… Unfortunately for you there are no “bow-chicka-bow-wow” relationship animations.

If people wanna see six that bad you can either A. Do the "teabag" (repeatedly crouch and stand) to a dead body and there you go, you get Necrophiliac + six (Unless you do it to your wife while shes sleeping LOL,then its [censored]) or B. Wait for a mod.

Hell even C. Use your imagination.

Or combine all 3.

There were some in New Vegas, but that wasn't Bethesda's game. Though i hear Daggerfall's temple of Dibella was ...not what you'd except of a temple :whistling:

Nova in Fallout 3. And that was Bethesda's game.

I expect it will be apart of Skyrim. It probably wont be an in your face feature though.

Dont give a [censored], but I think we spotted some possible prosttutes in the trailer, or at least some people claimed so--in the picture of the city at night.

The Brothels could work as the homeless people in Oblivion, the prosttutes could give the thieves info.

In Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood, Ezio's sister did that and they got info from people.

And Black Ghost, I don't know what pic that is, link?

Simply having a quest where you break up a relationship can be considered a 'sixual theme', and we've already been told about that quest. That's hardly 'sixual content' tho.

Click on the M, you'll even see that the ESRB differentiates between sixual themes and sixual content:
sixual Content - Non-explicit depictions of sixual behavior, possibly including partial nudity
sixual Themes - References to six or sixuality

Since it doesn't mention content, only themes, it'll be tame. Especially since the fallout from a bad rating call usually means the ratings are inflated a bit to be on the safe side. The ESRB's entire purpose it to voluntarily rate stuff to avoid complaints that would lead to legislation.

Prostitution would probably require the following descriptor:
Strong sixual Content - Explicit and/or frequent depictions of sixual behavior, possibly including nudity

So for those holding your breath for it, best to stop and wait for the inevitable mod deluge.

Prostitution should be in, but not necessarily something you can take part in. Even if you could I wouldn't like to purchase six, but I would still like to see them stroll around I guess, near taverns or brothels. Maybe alittle bit like Assassin's Creed, where brothels is a good source for information.

Heh yeah, and I'm sure Bethesda is going to go out of their way to ensure another ESRB fiasco like the one with Oblivion is avoided in the future.

Prostitution should definitely be in. Even without animations. I'd rather have those as well but its better than nothing. Adds to the authenticity of the world and makes it feel more mature and beieveable. There could be a brothel in every city and some random prosttutes hanging around villages. The Witcher 1 and 2 did this extremely well. Added to immersion and believeability.

We've have had prostitution ingame since Arena, children. The raciest imagery has been in Daggerfall (and FYI, what occurs in the temple of Dibella is hardly inaccurate. Google 'sacred prostitution' to get an idea of just how -not- uptight most of the past religions have been in certain ways. And the acceptability of it). That was one of the big faux pa's of Oblivion. =ANY= Imperial city is going to be packed with soldiers......and equally packed with ladies of the night to keep them happy and take the gold they can't really spend of much else save wine and ale. None of the long term TES fans want a six simulator for a lot of reasons (primary of which is that many of us DOS era people have played one or more of the Japanese imports of same....and you get maybe one playthrough; replay value is nonexistant). But some things are to be expected without a bloody good reason and explanation. Pro's could provide plenty of information from both the light and dark side of the streets. And if has always been a career of last resort in =any= age or culture. Or career of total rebellion. Or the place where those with some kind of sixual dysfunction find a niche. Or the last place for one of breeding to actually hide.

There is plenty of reasons for said career to exist in this kind of world, and no reason whatsoever to justify its abscence. There is no domineering religion that cuts off Mr Happy if it gets used outside approved marriage, is there?

It could also add more immersion to marriage, let's say you're married and you snuck out of your house to go to the local bar and you see a prosttute that is walking toward you. You go over to wherever and then your wife finds some "evidence" that you went out with someone.

or vice versa.

No, there is all ready confirmed no nudity, and I doubt Bethesda would include this into their game, this is not gta. A black screen? shure but then what's the point, It would be a waste of time. I think it should be like red dead where they're there but you can only talk to them.

I don't think prostitution being in the game would create an uproar. We already have same-six marriage, children in a hostile environment, brutal slayings and spiders. If there's a line, they've already crossed it (for most people).

If bethesda, even thought very unlikely, puts lady prosttutes in skyrim then I want them to be fair and put male prosttutes in the same brothel as well.

Tirion Lannister, a fellow as known for his fondness of prosttutes and their good services as he is for his wit and height, is your icon and you DON'T want any brothels. Well there is irony, for you.

But games like Fable II and III, which have a host of half naked female and male prosttutes, full service and commentary behind the black screen, has pretty much shown beyond all doubt that just having in game brothels will not spell the end for your game. The Evangelical extreme lost that particular battle some time ago, though hardly anyone seems to realize it.

Well based on this I doubt Bethesda will have prostitution in their game. I think it takes away from the game and their global sales. Again, the black screen theory could be incorporated but I think it is a waste of a game mechanic.
