Proton throwing axes..

Post » Wed Jul 27, 2011 5:39 pm

I read up on the wiki and it stated that they were as rare as mini nukes :(. So dies that make them an unreliable source of throwing weapons? Or is there a reliable source in which I can get them.

There are more of those than mini nukes in fo nv, but there are not a ton. I think I found maybe 15, but I didn t scour the entire map yet either.

Wiki is not really a reliable source about a lot of fo things. IMO

Technically no, there are more mini nukes. Expecially with the 3 Mini Nukes you can get every 3 days from a certain Boomer. :P

A couple of hours ago I had a lobotimite hurl one at me...he missed but it looked puuurty flying thru the air.

I am not sure if the foes are programmed to have specific weaponary but the places I have been when I loot dead foes they seem to have pretty much similar loot on them each time.

For what its worth the lobotimite that tried to hit me with one was near the side entrance to the lab that has the hologram testing next to the big guns testing site. Happy hunting.

The Proton throwing axe does some serious skull-smashing. I wish that Bethesda had included more.

I have 45 throwing axes, and I completely drained Beeg Mt. of all it's resources so.... Add them to the Sink's store. Add the K9000 also, this is [censored].

Ive found 9 total.

The first one was in
Spoiler
The school test.

I blew that one when I thought it was just a 1handed melee axe.

I found 8 more somewhere else. X-13 I think. Don't remember. Use them on a particularly large Ironman scorpion.

I have a pretty hefty stash, they're just hidden around places. Now that I know they're rare I'll stop chucking them at robots then

Does anyone know if there are any specific farmable lobotomites in order to get some of these? I would rather farm for them than to be forced to use console commands to use them.

I know that there are some rare ocassions where a Lobotomite wields them, though I've only come across one and that was in The Cuckoo's Nest.

The proton ones aren't super rare but there aren't very many I think theres like 10 guaranteed the rest are random spawns the inverse proton ones are super rare I think theres 5 guaranteed and they have a much smaller spawn chance kinda a bummer too if your into melee they do really good damage for thrown weapons.

The proton throwing axes are not finite... I found at least fifty, and they respawn on enemies.

Protonic inversal throwing axes are finite though as far as I'm aware, they are only found on a certain unique enemy at a certain place...

I think you'll probably find the proton throwing axes on random spawns, but the proton inversal throwing axes are very limited. Or are the regular ones limited too?

Seems a hell of a waste having single use weapons in very limited quantities. I don't use them simply for the fact I see to miss half the time with thrown weapons, so I'd rather horde them for display somewhere.

i lol'd!

i have a couple of dozen saved in a locker. i've sold a couple of dozen. i've used at least a couple of dozen. i've never had one used on me. i've only found two inversal axes so far. Thought i'd add my experience to the count.

i'm not done with the DLC yet.

I find most of mine on enemies or lying around in buildings. I have ~40 now, but I'm afraid that's all I'll ever find.
I found some Protonic Inversal Throwing Axes on Ironbelly in the weather building.

I have yet to see a lobotomite spawn with any. I get Proton Axes (non-throwing-type), Saturnite Fists, Brush Guns, Hunting Revolvers, and 10mm SMGs, and the rare Shiskebab.

I found over 50 in OWB, but they are still very valuable. I wish there was a more permanent source so I wouldn't feel guilty throwing them

Or they could release an update they enables you to pick up throwable weapons you threw. IE If you killed some with the Proton Axes maybe you should be able to pick them back up off the dead body, or pick them off the ground from throwing them.
