Proudshire Mansion

Post » Wed Dec 07, 2011 3:26 pm

How do I buy the Proudshire Mansion at Solitude? Do I need to become the Thane of Solitude first? I want to do a glitch but to do it I need the mansion (which is the only one I know of that has a mannequin in it). And one more thing, does anyone know of a cheap house that comes with a mannequin or just a place that I can find a mannequin in?

I doubt anyone bought it yet. It's the most expensive one.

You need to do at least one task for the Jarl to be able to buy property and to start the quest to become Thane.

HA! Shows what you know, Happy. I just bought it 3 hours ago; and a friend of mine had bought it the first day the game came out. Making money is not hard in Skyrim. :P

It is a very nice house, but it will take you a while to get the gold up for it, it took me hours of grinding in dungeons and quests, and then I couldn't buy furniture until a few hours after that. You have to do some quests for the Jarl, and then the option will be available to you. However, if it is just the mannequins you need, the house in Windhelm has three. However, these have been bugged on the PS3, (not sure for other consoles) where when you put armor on them, they become invisible.... so ... yeah.

So if I buy a house in Riften I'll get the mannequins? And is the house expensive?

yes there are dolls in riften house and it yours for the low low price of 8000g

if your having problem with cash just enchant all the daggers you get .

1 iron dagger 10-15g + petty soul gem 50-100g (i enchant it with banish) =1300-2100g . lol my biggest problem is to find someone with cash enough to buy my daggers, (find someone who can train you and have a shop , like the wizards or alchemists)

This was also my method. Enchanting + Smithing "breaks" the game more than just in terms of combat.

Took me 20-30 hours of quests and exploring to save my hard cash to buy it. Really feels like I earned it now!

I bought it earlier today, it's sweet. Alot of coin not only for the house but for the decorations as well.

I'm on ps3.. Anyone else with the house having trouble with the weapon racks in the bedroom?

the best house is the one in windhelm tbh (you got lots of displays for weapons and armors)

the solitude house is the most expensive but only got like 2 mannequins and 1 weapon rack (and they are in a small room in the basemant, while the weapon rack is in the bedroom)

ok so i have the houses in rifted, wndhelm, solitude and whiterun. To get the one in solitude u have to do the quests "the man who cried wolf" and "wolf queen awakened". Then do small things around town to help the people. Its 25 000 gold so the most expensive.

In my opinion windhelm house is much better.

Whiterun: weapon rack and one weapon plaque on the wall. 5000 gold
Riften: Two mannequins, weapon rack, weapon plaque x4, alchemy and enchanting table. 8000 gold
Windhelm: 3 mannequins, 3 display cases, 4 dagger display cases, 4 weapon plaques and 2 shield plaque, alchemy and enchanting table. 12 000 gold
Solitude: 2 mannequins, 2 shield plaques, 2 weapon plaques, alchemy and enchanting table. 25 000 gold

And off course upgrades for all the houses cost a bit more ;) The markarth house I don't own, but think it has one or two mannequins. 8000 gold..
