So, I'm trying to finally finish No Stone Unturned, and I keep reading that the "Key to the Solitude Fletcher" will let me in the patio door of Proudspire Manor without buying it. This....doesn't work for me. I pickpocketed both existing keys (from the two gentlemen in the Solitude Fletcher), and I'm not running the Unofficial Skyrim Patch (That I know of, haha) which I have heard fixes this "bug." Tried disabling mods, DLC, etc. to no avail. Any ideas?

Official patch 1.9 fixes this bug.

Imo its easier to buy the house. But as for your glitch I don't know unless it was fixed by 1.9 like Expresate said.

Grrr. Well, maybe I'll just console it open, then. I like the idea of the key EXISTING somewhere before you buy the house. Kind of like how most merchant's wares don't really exist unless you buy them. Thanks for the help!

Oh! - Does the Wax Key perk work on something like this? Unpickable locks? If not, can someone explain what it's for...?

Wax key makes a copy of any lock that has a key. If you unlock say Shatter-Shield's house once you will get a key for that door without having to pickpocket them. It does not work on unpickable locks or with locks that don't have a specialized key for them.
