I play Skyrim on the xbox and this question is for someone on pc who access to the Skyrim Creation Kit. Do you happen to know whether or not the housecarl's quarters in the basemant of Proudspire Manor is supposed to be furnished? From what I've read, there is supposedly a bug that prevents this from happening, even when you are made Thane of Haafingar. This is the way it always looks on my game: http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/File:ProudspireManorGroundFloor2.jpg, even when Jordis moves into the house.
