Proudspire Manor (Solitude House) Issues & Jordis

Post » Tue May 29, 2012 10:13 pm

Hello!

Having recently gone over the 70 hours playtime, I figured it'd probably be worth getting a house other than Breezehome in Whiterun. While Breezehome is convenient I wanted somewhere new.

I found I had already met pretty much all the pre-requisites for Proudspire Manor in Solitude, so went ahead and did a mission for Elisif the Fair upon which I was presented with the option of buying a house. Great, I thought so I went ahead and purchased it and all the upgrades.

Anyhow, I went inside and soon found there were various issues with the property.

The following I have seen commonly mentioned here/elsewhere:

- Of the five weapon racks downstairs, only three work.
- Clipping Issues for the wall next to the Mannequins.
- When you purchase the Patio upgrade, the door next to it may not unlock and state that it requires the key. (Can be worked around using the debug console unlock command on PC.)

Now for issue that I am interested in input on:

On the ground floor of the Manor (though the doorway to the right if you enter from the entrance to the Manor which does not require going up stairs) there is a room filled with boxes, a bed roll and various containers, cobwebs etc. this room does has not changed for me even having become Thane, gained Jordis the Sword-Maiden (Housecarl) and purchasing all the upgrades for the house.

Possible Cause:

The room mentioned above should actually transform into Jordis' room when assigned to you as your Housecarl, but is bugged and therefore for whatever reason this does not happen.

Related?

Quest Assist the people of Haafingar (5/5) is not marked as completed/removed from quest list even having purchased Proudspire Manor and being made Thane.

Jordis does not seem to sleep, no matter what time of the day/night I go to the Manor Jordis appears to sit in a chair (awake) all the time.
If my possible cause is correct, this may be caused by a bed not being assigned to Jordis in the house. Does anyone know if there are console commands you can use to assign an item (e.g. a bed) to a character?

Any input and confirmation if others have had the same issue as me would be appreciated :)

Another possibly related issue, if you marry Jordis it seems you may not get the Lover's Comfort bonus.

I have the same issues.

The far left and right holders on the large weapon rack (the one by the enchanting station that appears it should be able to hold 5 weapons) cannot be selected.
The guest bedroom (presumably should be Jordis' room) is empty as it was before I bought all the upgrades. My Assist the people of Haafingar (5/5) quest has also not been marked off as completed and is still in my active quest log (even though I have met all the requirements.

That's okay, I bought the house and all the upgrades, but got no Jordis at all. My house is empty of people if I'm not there.

I reloaded and managed to get Jordis to show up. I guess I got lucky because the wiki indicates it's a common bug.

Regarding the Haafingar 5/5 bug, I had the same problem but I completed an extra one and a message popped up as "quest completed Help the people of Haafingar 6/5"

I married Jordis but don't get the lovers comfort bonus. Any ideas how to fix it? Is it even worth bothering about?
