Am I the only person getting MySQL errors when trying to go to the website? I'm hoping I didn't just totally screw up the site or exceed the host's capacity with something because of the Coppermine gallery. :(

I'm hoping this is just a temporary issue and it appears to be affecting my entire network of sites and not just Province: Cyrodiil.

Right now the page just isn't loading at all, but before that I was getting this error:

SQL ERROR [ mysqli ]

Too many connections [1040]

An sql error occurred while fetching this page. Please contact an administrator if this problem persists.

If anyone has any idea what that means please tell me.

I'm also getting a similar error on my PHP Fusion-based sites:

Unable to establish connection to MySQL
2002 : Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock' (11)

I'm hoping this is something on Hostmonster's end that they're already aware of and are working on getting fixed. If this persists throughout today and going into tomorrow-I'll probably contact support and try to figure out what's going on.

Also, it appears to be rotating between giving me the error and the pages just not loading at all.

I was just able to see the site fine, although I am unable to post there as of a couple days ago.

I had to refresh the page before I saw anything, and I wasn't logged in as I normally am, but I did get to see the site as normal afterward. The site is running awfully slow, every other site I go to is loaded within seconds, but our site takes many more at this time.

I'm hoping that sluggishness was just going on during a recovery phase-right now it seems to be loading up fairly quickly-or at least average from my experience. I hope this was an issue on Hostmonster's end (seems likely enough unless the problem just magically fixed itself), and not due to anything related to how I set up Coppermine Gallery and its bridge to phpBB.

Been busy skinning the new image gallery: http://www.provincecyrodiil.com/coppermine/

Once I figured out where everything was it was a breeze to edit and get it to look the way I wanted it to. :D

As for Tarius, I'll try to look into it but it may help if I had some specifics on which forums are having trouble-I'm guessing it's the public forums. Okay, I changed it-I'm not sure how I even managed to overlook assigning roles to registered members in the public forums-I guess I just copied the permissions from the News forum and forgot it was read-only access. lol

As stated in the OP, this mod will be completely unique from what was seen in Oblivion. It shall follow more closely the description of Cyrodiil as detailed in the Pocket Guides to the Empire. We will be rebuilding Kvatch as it has yet to be destroyed, and two towns that were supposed to be in Oblivion but were cut (for time constraints I imagine) will be built as well. Province: Cyrodiil is not Oblivion in Morrowind, it is a creation of the province as it should have been, and with all new quests and tasks. Many of the characters will be familiar as we plan on being very lore oriented (minus the whole retcon of the Cyrodiil province) and so many NPC's will be the same, just several years younger and not knowing what is to come. There will also be very new characters as 4 entirely new cities will be born (Stirk, Kvatch, Mir Corrup, and Sutch) as will smaller settlements as the province will be on the Morrowind scale which is roughly twice the size Cyrodiil was made at in Oblivion. Expanded environment means more area to explore with new dungeons, small towns, Ayleid ruins, and larger cities than are seen in Oblivion.

Actually, I think Sutch is the only city that can be confirmed as cut from Oblivion-Mir Corrup is definitely a place that logically should have been in Oblivion but there's no real evidence (that I'm aware of) that at any point during the main development of the game they intended to include it. It's possible they may have discussed including Mir Corrup and/or Stirk during pre-development-but only Sutch has been established as actually having anything tangible developed for the game before it was cut.

Of course, this is all irrelevant to the point-which is that we'll have three entirely new never-before-seen towns (two of which will be available in our first two releases)-Stirk, Sutch, and Mir Corrup, and one town that's never been seen as anything but a pile of rubble (or in a mod that rebuilds it)-Kvatch. That's not to say that we won't be doing anything imaginative or unique with the towns already established in Oblivion, however.

This :P

The towns will certainly be more unique, first by being considerably larger, then by being laid-out very differently, as well as the new architecture being somewhat different.

We just recently opened our http://www.provincecyrodiil.com/coppermine/index.php which is directly bridged with all phpBB accounts. Originally, I'd planned to try adding a modification for phpBB that adds an Image Gallery, however due to our custom theme it proved to be a tad difficult-so I started searching for alternatives. I decided to look for a dedicated image gallery CMS and discovered Coppermine, at first I thought that requiring a separate login would be unavoidable but as it turns out Coppermine supports "bridging" with several other popular content management systems, including phpBB. So while it's not quite the same as having a mod for phpBB it's probably a better option overall and the positives far outweigh the negatives. We might also be able to implement some kind of download system to share files internally using Coppermine as well-if not I'll not into a different solution.

Of course the important thing is that we've got an image gallery now-and we've got three concept art images produced collaboratively by SamirA and myself (he does the drawings and I enhance them and add color + the parchment background and P:C logo).

Heh, you know, you should make a quest where you have to hunt down and imprison the dark elf from the beginning of Oblivion just as a fun but not painfully too obvious joke. Then maybe have a convoy sitting alongside the road with a vague silhouette inside of a carriage and guards that simply state that they have no idea why the prisoner has been arrested but he's bound for the Imperial City prisons.

I think they would make fun homages and not break your rule of making a new, true Cyrodiil.

Considering that Morrowind is set six years before Oblivion it'd be a bit of a stretch to say you're the one who helped get him in prison (or at least you couldn't be responsible for his most recent "term" as of the events of Oblivion). Not that it wouldn't be interesting to include him somehow anyway and maybe give him a bit more backstory-I don't think I've gotten the chance to play that one Dark Brotherhood quest involving him yet.

Oh, and in terms of your other suggestion-that would definitely be impossible-I doubt that carriage would be taking six years just to arrive at the prison. :P

The latter idea is admittedly a stretch, although the dark elf seems to have been sitting in prison for awhile. At least, that was the impression I got from Oblivion by the way he talks as if he's already seen a ton of people wither away and die. Obviously about the least important thing that could be included, just throwing the idea out there. :)

I get the impression that he's just mean-spirited and/or having a bad day and taking it out on the future CoC. lol

It doesn't mean that he couldn't make an appearance outside of prison in some form, or even in prison or about to be for a different crime or something. I would be kinda neat to work him in some way in any case.

I say if this will become better using MGE/MWSE, then by all means use them! It would be a shame for you guys to be held back on some ideas and things you wanted to implement only because of people complaining they can't get MGE running. Think outside the box. ;)

MGE/MWSE use is not necessary to make this mod great, so we are forgoing it's use unless there is something we come up with that really requires it. We are simply not using it unless the need arises, as it is pointless to use if it doesn't serve any real purpose other than to make the mod more difficult for lots of people to play.

Looks like the UV needs to be tweaked slightly, at the tip of the leaf mesh. But other than that, very cool!

Yea, I noticed that as well. Otherwise nice use of oak leaves. Or at least I am pretty sure those are oak leaves.

In my opinion I think the roots could use a bit more brown on them. Mabe its simply the way the picture was taken, but I think that could be improved if the edges of the leaves were blurred ever so slightly, so as not to be so hard. I suppose its a matter of taste though in most cases.
