PS3's GOTY.

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 8:29 am

I don't usualy buy console games all that much, since i use a PC for mods and smoother game play. So i blew the dust of my old PS3 and got playing on Fall out 3 GOTY edition, i for one was truely horrified at this game. After one hour of being out in the wasteland i could tell how laggy this game was, including the random stop-starts and crashing it does. I would prefair my twenty five pounds back, i am truely distraught about how they released this with all these bugs.

Who els regrets buying this?

Not me , still a great game. My old saves work . Sure the loading time at first and lag gets a tad frustrating but It went away after a bit and it's still a great game with those few problems. No clue what your talking about man.

You have no idea of the constant frustration of buying new PS3 controllers, after they go through the window?
Not only does the PS3 lagg out my game, it corrupts saves more than anything i have known in a looooong time and to top it all off, it finishes quests that i have only just started.
Head aches thy' name is Fallout GOTY edition.

Wait? You usually play PC for mods... so you bought fo3 for PS3? FO3, the highly moddable successor to the highly moddable oblivion, who's mod scene is active to this day, successor to the highly moddable morrowind, who's mod scene is active to this day? No wonder you're disappointed.

Um it's YOUR fault for not controlling your anger so that you don't throw the controllers out the window.
Sure I have lagged out of the game about 4 times but it doesn't matter to me that much . And the quest thing your talking about confusing me ......

Wait.

I do control my anger, i do hope you don't think i literally throw my controller out of my window.

Why down grade? It's better to drink urine and enjoy the taste, than drink wine and be disgusted.
So yes, i got bored of the PC version.

yeah, that's kind of true.

Personally the only problem I have with it is the occasional freeze, but I suspect this is because I chose to wait until the GOTY version to play the game, as I knew there would be problems if I tried to play Vanilla saves with GOTY. My way, I minimised the incompatibilities.

Of course, I would prefer if in future Bethesda that we don't have to wait such a daft amount of time to get the DLC, but at least we got them at all this time, for which I thank you. There needs to be work done on gameplay glitches as well, but at least there's no damn ABOMB this time around.

A situation that happened:
I warned Simms about Burke's plan, I followed Simms all the way up the ramp passing a few Megaton's settlers. Until we came to Nathan (What is weirdly, my name), as i passed his head for some reason just exploded as if he was wearing a slavers collar. Why the hell this happened, i don't know. Simms decided "oh, what the hell" and just walked off ignoring the Burke problem. I entered the Bar where Burke was located and i am welcomed by him firing at me.
Far too many bugs for my liking.

sounds like a cool bug though. half the time i let simms live. so if it happen on the 360 i wouldn't be too upset.

I regret buying it. All the freezes just killed the game for me. I'm now playing Dragon Age and it hasn't frozen once. Never thought it would happen until Fallout GOTY, but now I like Bioware more than Besthesda.

There are already active threads in the PS3 hardware forums about the problems people are experiencing with the GOTY edition. Let's continue this in one of them.
