PS3 Owners need to be compensated

Fallout 3 for ps3 has better graphics than Evil Within for ps3. Are they going to ignore like they did with the buggy Skryim port? We deserve either a refund or dlc before other systems. My Playstation one had better graphics. There were times I looked at the game and thought 'is that supposed to be grass'? Or, 'is that supposed to be leaves'? I am so mad at Bethesda. No wonder why people just steal games with torrents. I don't blame them. If I could have previewed this game, I would have at least bought it for 360 or pc.

Do you think your anger and frustration is misplaced?

No, I don't. But it was a question worth pondering. I wondered if it was my fault because I should not have trusted Bethesda with a ps3 port. That it was my fault because I didn't research it. Truth is, this is the first game in a long time that I purchased on the first day it was released. I also spent $60 on the game. It's been three years since Skyrim and six since Fallout 3. Bethesda needs people to get angry at them. This game looks worse than both Skryim and Fallout 3. So, no my "anger and frustration" is not misplaced. We pay good money for these games and Bethesda either needs to make good for what they did wrong or at least have the truth exposed so more people know not to buy these versions of the game. If my anger is "misplaced" at Bethesda, then who should I be angry at? Should I be angry at myself for naively thinking that Bethesda would make a better port? I thought this was a company I could trust.

I wanted to get this for pc but I have a 32 bit version of windows 7. My hardware can handle it but my operating system wouldn't. Strangely, this game only works with 64 bit.

It still is a company you can trust. But every game company isn't always going to be able to make other people happy. Look at Square Enix. Do you think every Final Fantasy game they made people loved? I was deeply disappointed with Final Fantasy 13-2 and 13-3. But they got good reviews and people loved it, even though I didn't. The game didn't work for me. Was it Squire Enix's fault I didn't like those games? No, it just my personal view. It wasn't anyone's fault for that matter. I see it that you're upset with a game you bought. I've seen the reviews and a lot of people like this game. However that is fine if you don't. I don't see it as the companies fault. They can't make everyone happy.

I bought it for PS4, thinking it would have superior graphics to ps3 or xbox versions. It doesn't. It feels like I'm playing an old PS2 game. Maybe it was intentional? Maybe it was made to feel old school?

Wow, I suddenly don't feel as bad. I feel worse for you because you actually went out and bought a ps4. Maybe I shouldn't complain. People say that developers are "lazy" when games come out like this. It's more like "greedy". Game developers work insane hours. I think people died making LA Noire from what I've read. I blame the business side and not the developer side.

I think the problem, too, is developers give a release date, then they don't like to delay the game. I would rather wait another six months for a game than what the initial release date was, and have a game that is playable. Tomb Raider got pushed back another six months, but the final product was fantastic. I think the graphics on older Tomb Raider games (like Legend and Underworld) are better than Evil Within. I love horror survival games, because I get scared easily, that's part of the fun. Alien Isolation scares the pants off me. My husband commented that I never used to be like that with scary games, and I think it's because these days the graphics are so realistic, it really feels like you're there, you are immersed in it. I thought Evil Within would scare me (although I'm still on chapter two), but the poor graphics etc constantly remind me that I'm playing a game.

Personally I would put the blame squarely on the publishers. The devs were probably pushed into using idtech 5, which was completely unsuitable for this game, then they were probably forced into releasing it unfinished in order to get it out for the release date. Skyrim was released unfinished in order to make a stupid calendar date.

I don't have this platform so I can't speak for how it performs.

It's a shame that so many people over-react over not getting there way.

Please understand I am not talking about the OP in this thread.

The way so many people just throw themselves on the floor, cursing Bethesda because they don't like the Aspect Ratio, graphical style, being forced to think while playing the game, etc... seriously undermines the credibility of people making legitimate and serious complaints.

All I can offer in the way of suggestion is to point out that many of the best games I've ever played were not always the best looking games I'd ever played.

Try giving it a go and playing it.

Another thing to note is that you may simply need to acclimatise to the graphical style.

When I first played the game I wasn't sure about the graphics... simply because they were new and different to the other stuff I'd been playing.

Try and allow yourself to settle into them and you may find yourself not being as upset with the game because you're mind has begun to accept the game's graphics as 'familiar'.

You could argue that you're trying to condition yourself to accept something poor... but if you decide you're going to hate the game before you actually really start playing it... yer gonna hate the game no matter what.

All the consoles are poorly optimized, not just PS3. I really hope they fix this $#!t.
