By the looks of alot of newer PS3 games such as Killzone 3, uncharted 2 God of war 3 etc I doubt we have much to worry about graphicly.

Im more worried about it losing out on content.

Not where graphics are concerned, no. There's no reason the PS3 will be shafted in that regard.

When it comes to DLC, however...

Skyrim will no doubt look good on Xbox 360 and PS3. But more than likely it will look better on PC. The hardware for the consoles are becoming obsolete and the new engine Bethesda has built probably requires a lot more than gamebyro did for Oblivion.

While PS3 exclusives generally look better than Xbox 360 games, multiplatform games generally look better on the 360.

That's the concern with graphics.

Well.. the PS3 is more capable than the 360, but it's harder to program for.

The devs have had a lot more time to learn it though. So if anything I'd expect it to look better on the PS3 than the 360.

Of course what with mods and the better capability alone of a top of the line PC, that's where it'll look best.

Those games are all PS3 exclusives, which means the developers have time to sit around and try to figure out the best render techniques to use with PS3's cell processor. From what I have heard it's not the easiest platform to develop for.

Wherever there is a PC involved, consoles get the short end of the graphical stick. It's an unfortunate thing, and one of the many reasons I believe consoles need to lose the proprietary lockdowns that hold everything back.

I've noticed that as well, I have a 360 and my bro has a PS3.

Anyone know why this is?

I reckon they could make the game look better on PS3 if they put the extra time into it, but I very much doubt that they will.

I wouldnt mind some good graphics on PS3, but I could live wihtout them.
Content, Im not too worried about, because Im sure any ground-breakign DLCs will be realesed to all.

The PS3 is capable of awesome graphics. Whether the programmers are skilled enough with the dev kit for the PS3 is an entirely different issue.

It would be nice if BGS spent the time to learn how to streamline their game(s) for all platforms it is released upon.

Graphically? You'll be right up there with the competition. Quality, I doubt they will pull a Fallout 3 again, so don't be so worried about that. Content, heres the problem, PS3 tends to get delayed DLC's, mostly because Microsoft buys out everything (this is coming from a Xbox player). It usually goes, Xbox gets content, then PC, the PS3.

I own the xbox360, PS3, and PC all. I have to say, I could care less about graphics as long as the gameplay is amazing. This is why I play either xbox or PC more than the PS3, the PS3 games all seem to focus on making the graphics awe-inspiring while the stories are short and boring..

Consoles aren't shorthanded, in fact console games are far more optimized to run on the hardware they use than PC games. It's not as easy to optimize a PC game for the constantly changing hardware, but many developers are also just slacking off when it comes to optimization. A PC will obviously look way better because the hardware inside is just far better.

Yeah, I'm more worried about the dlc than the graphics. I will probably stick with the 360 for this game.

More people own Xbox360s which is the reason why developers spend more time preparing multiplatform games for the Xbox360
The PS3 has great capabilities and if truly focused on (PS3 exclusives) the games can look amazing
(Also is it weird I patiently wait for the GOTY version instead of instantly buying DLCs to save money...?)

I don't think the PS3 will get shafted on anything except DLC. At this point it's obvious that Bethesda still hasn't learned their lesson :shakehead:

Even if there is a graphics difference, it's really hard to tell the difference. Only thing I'm worried about is that Playstation 3 users receive the same DLCs and other content that PC and Xbox 360 receives.
I was dissapointed (even made a long thread about it) about how Xbox 360 and PC received the Battlehorn Castle and Frostcrag Spire and Palystation 3 didn't. Those were my two favorite houses.
