PS3 Players- I need a squad

Post » Sat Feb 19, 2011 11:03 am

I am looking to find some like minded players to put together a squad. Not anything super official like a full fledged clan. This game being as team based as it is, I don't want to be in random squads all the time, and it would be fun to have a group that works together, uses different classes, and plays on a regular basis together. I am planning on having a few different characters of each size and class, and want to be able to play as all the different styles with other people who want to rotate classes and work well together...

Main thing I would be looking for is people who are mature, no kids please, and must have a mic due to teamwork. This would be a small group of people so we can become used to each others playstyle and be more efficient than having a huge clan and always needing to adjust to new people's play style.

Anyone interested we could also get some play time on BFBC2, COD:BO MOH or Homefront, while we wait for Brink to come out, just to get a feel for how we all play together.

My Bio:
Used to play all types of games now only FPS... I mix my play style depending on what's needed by my squad. I enjoy good teamwork and communication, and prefer to have fun rather than take things too seriously, even if we lose. Feel free to add me on PSN if you want to play one of the games mentioned above while waiting for Brink to release.. In the friend request just mention Brink so I know where you are adding me from.

You see that key to right of your keyboard with the letters "E" "N" "T" "E" and "R" on it? Yeah? We'll its called an http://www.techonthenet.com/clipart/keyboard/images/enter_key.png

It's particularly useful for seperating long segments of sentences and allowing everything to be more easily read. Please try to use it so we can all better understand your predicament.

Now concerning the topic at hand, answer the following questions..

1. Do you own a Mic?

2. How old are you?

3. Please tell me you have played FPS's other then the mainstreams you listed...

I guess i should have used enter because you would have answered at least one of the questions for yourself.

1. Yes as I mentioned that is a key I am looking for in people to squad up with
2. 35
3. Those are the games i currently own, so as I mentioned they would be for playing now to see if there is any reason to squad up in Brink. I have played more games, my all time favorite was Rainbow 6 III on original xbox.

I also forgot to mention that I am not interested in being in a squad with anyone who feels people need to have played certain games to have "credibility". I want to have fun playing Brink, and to do that squad play will be important so having compatible group members is a must. Whether someone is getting this as their first FPS or has only played COD their whole life makes no difference to me.. What I am trying to find are people that want to work together and improve at the game due to teamwork, and time spent learning how to best compliment each others play style.

I wasn't attempting to be an ass, but if I offended you then I apologize. It just annoys me having to read through a paragraph thats so tightly spaced.

I don't need credibility, but knowing what other games you have played and enjoyed allows me to better understand you as player.

If your all for teamwork, cooperation, and your still willing to give me shot, then you can take a gander at my profile for my PSN ID.

As far as games I have played and enjoyed, I am strictly a console gamer. Rainbow 6 and Ghost Recon are where I cut my teeth. Tried Halo but futuristic stuff isn't my cup of tea. COD4 was ok for mindless killing and have played the series just for that fact. Usually FFA or Barebones as killstreaks are incentives for campers and prefer the pure mode with no perks, killstreaks etc. Enjoyed MAG quite a but, but when all my friends bailed on it, somehow it lost its luster to me. BFBC2 was phenomenal to me, and played it since release until now when I want some squad based action, along with Homefront recently. COD and MOH are just time killers when I want to riun and gun, no thinking and fast action.

In Mag I played Sniper or Engineer. Based on what was needed. My group had enough medics and assault guys.

Battlefield I am proficient at every class but prefer Assault and Engineer.. I am the best sniper in our group but only play that class when asked by my squad, which is mainly when some good counter sniping is needed.

Homefront, still learning the game.

I am not much for using grenades as i prefer to shoot. I never use vehicles in Battlefield as they are boring to me... I have teammates that enjoy them so we have good balance.

When it comes to Brink, I am willing to learn whatever class that will best benefit my team, and my K/D is not important to me. I will do support actions all match if that will help us win.

Battlefield seems to be the only game that comes close to the teamwork required in Brink. However, instead of large scale battles on open battlefields, you get tightly packed fast paced action on small maps, much more team coordinated.

MAG was a decent game, however the amount of players online now is humiliating.

If you have Gamefly or visit Blockbuster regularly, then I highly suggest you check out Mirrors Edge if you haven't played it already. Again, it's not exactly like Brink, but it will give you a small introduction to parkour in shooters.

Seeing as no Demo/Beta will be released for Brink, there is nothing else any of us can do other then wait it out. :ermm:

Do what I do, act as an unofficial salesman for Splash Damage and try to sell your friends Brink.

I have spread the word on this game as much as I can but most of them are too afraid to pull the trigger until they can try it.. Got burned by too many new games being letdowns lately.

I had been feeling that way, my friends and I have been very careful with purchases so I have been slowly working to get my one friend interested. Of course he just went out and bought Homefront randomly so I think caution may be slipping away at this point.

Hello, I would just like to say that my clan and I would be more than happy to game with you. We are kids (I know that you stated that you do not want to play with kids, but the majority of us are quite mature), but we are good gamers, we (Me in particular) enjoy playing as a team and laying out strategies, to find out which is the most effective. We are not those kids that always whine and complain that they died over the mic, as we despise those childish people too. I hope to hear back from you.

Bocephus1975, I think Im the only one that has read this that actually understands you.

Ill look you up on the PSN when its back up.

I understand that you DONT want to be in a "clan". You just want some homies.

& as far as your typing style goes... I dont think reading a solid paragraph ever did anyone any harm. Unless it was a "Dear John" letter.

It does - brining up an old thread pushes away newer, interesting threads. It's common courtesy in a forum to not post in very old threads without good reason.

I'm not sure if this is technically something that needs to be in this http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1112398-brink-fansites-clans-tournaments-and-forums/, but I'm just gonna leave this here anyway...

Yes, I know Wraith already added it, I'm just being sure.

my clan plays all of those games... we are all getting brink as well.

check out our website www.BLSC.webstarts.com

we just got it up about a week or two ago, so its still coming along.. but add us, as long as psn is up by the time Brink comes out, we will be putting some time in on it.

btw, we all have mics (actually, we all have surrond sound headsets) we are all over 25 years old as well. We are a very small clan right now, 6 total people, but we are always looking for people to play with.
