Who cares, there's SP to warm up on anyway and we're getting free stuff from Sony for our troubles.

Why would you give up on a console just because it was hacked, and has been down for a couple of weeks? I know some of you practically make out with your PS3, but don't you think that's taking it a little too far?

It'll most likely be up this week...Calm down...

Anyone who gives up on it is impatient (or had information on there and is very angry). I'm neither of those. I still haven't played Portal 2's co-op but I ended up not wanting to play it as much anymore. At least Brink has bots (that may svck). Besides, PSN is free and we're getting two (hopefully decent games like inFamous and Warhawk) and a month of Playstation Plus. I'm sure Sony will be kissing our asses for a while after all this too. A few weeks without PSN is definitely worth it. I just hope they catch the culprit and the hackers back off (yeah right).

I can understand the hackers wanting revenge against Sony for their treatment of some gamers, but really I don't think this is the smartest way to do it. The hackers are basically getting everyone pissed at them because PSN is down, normally Anon tries to get the people on their side. I don't believe it's Anonymous anymore because they generally don't attack the public, they attack those who threaten the internet. The people who had credit cards through PSN and the people who had their names and addresses placed online are not threatening the internet, they were innocent bystanders. Anyway, that's why I think it's not Anonymous as a whole but I wouldn't be surprised if it was an overzealous member or two of Anon.

Im not giving up on mine as well. I have been a PS fan since first the playstation console came out. Im just tired of these constant attacks, I think SONY gets the picture now about hacks, the hackers honestly need to BTFO.

Nope. Not giving it up...
However, it probably would help economically. lol
Between Uc3, Brink, Infamous 2 and a few others, I'd save a lot of money. lol. But, yeah... I trust Sony will get PSN up eventually...
Until then, I'll read a book. :read: and become a scholar :grad: !

^THIS^ It's obviously not Anonymous due to the fact that they are for the people.

I'll be playing Brink single player if PSN isn't up yet.

I'd be doing that anyway.

I might do it for a little longer than I initially planned, but as the saying goes... "OhDearHowSadNeverMind"

anonymous was behind this. no doubt in my mind on that. let me just say this right now, [censored] you anonymous, [censored] you. you took away PSN and severed connections around the world for the most [censored] purpose ever: to get back at sony for suing geohotz. your truly are full of retards anon. geohotz got sued for good reason: he hacked into systems and converted them to other os systems.(he also tried hooking his ps up to the net as well.) if your going to mod your PS3, don't ever hook it up to the PSN. hacking for evil ways like this is just wrong, and i hope they get sentenced for 25yrs+ when they are found. if you want to hack, you get permission from other users to try and retrieve information for them that they are not able to get on their end. you dont hack systems to prove your point or to piss off 77 million people. asswipes.

well, at any rate its coming back on soon. and i've been with Sony since the PS1 and through 3 generations of its life span. do you really think im going to give up an awesome system life a PS3? come on now.

Never gonna give you up, never gonna let you down, or ....
Well you get the point, NO.

I'd like it if all those kids who can't appreciate a good singleplayer(Thus 90% of the CoD kiddies) go to the X360, have fun.

Some people can't seen to understand that everything is hackable, no matter what you play on.
I won't be and wasn't bored when PSN will be/was online, I have almost beaten Uncharted 2 for the fifth time, got my second playthrough on MGS4, and such games, you won't get them on any other platform.

This has actually been a concern of mine since the PSN was taken down after Sony admitted that an intruder had broken into the network. I've been pretty ticked off at Sony. Not because my personal information was stolen (I've had it taken multiple times, and I don't fear identity theft), but because the PSN is down. I feel that they are potentially damaging the community for games like KZ3, Socom, Battlefield, and now possibly Brink. I almost bought an Xbox, but after careful contemplation, decided not to. I also noticed that the Xbox 360 pre-orders are three times as much as the PS3. I don't find myself playing against bots all of the time. Ultimately, my best friend of 17 years recently acquired a PS3, and he lives over 200 miles away from me. So when PSN returns, Brink will provide us a way to hang out, even if we are battling bots co-op.

Based on what I read, on this forum and others, it appears that most active players plan to return to the PSN once it is up an running. I just want Brink on the PS3 to have an active an healthy community. This is my number one fear, as I am almost positive that Brink's gameplay will not disappoint.

The bigger issue is that Sony essentially gave away all of their personal information because there was a lack of proper encryption on anything. They were hacked, hacked, and hacked again showing that the entire system was negligently put together.

Nah, it was not a member of /b/, otherwise all of your credit card info would be circulating around the internet. They take things too wayyyyy too far.
