PS3-users post-patch opinions?

Hey!

I bought Fallout NV collectors edition back on its release date i Norway. It did cost me a massive 140$! But, after some
consideration, and the fact that I hated myself for not buying the collectors edition of Fallout 3, I got it.

Turned out to be a big mistake, but I was allowed to return the game, after some arguing ofc...

Anyhow, after the release of the 1.05 I've read that alot of users don't experience stuttering or freezing.
So I was wondering, is it worth it to buy the game again? Now it don't cost more than 50 bucks here.

Every little bit of information, positive or negative, is welcome!! ;)

Btw: sorry if my grammar aren't that good :)

I have patch 1.5
DO NOT get it. It is not worth it. it fixed nothing for me. I still have an extremely large amount of lag, loading times are longer, and it freezes a lot. AND this is from a brand new copy of NV. I didn't buy it second hand, and only got it last week. SO wait for a proper patch to come out that actually does something.

Many people report an exact opposite experience to King, having much less to no lag where they would once surely crash.

Game seems to be running a lot faster and smoother than before patch 1.5

Not 100% perfect though, but I have to say it is huge improvement over the original game and previous patches.

The patch fixed the game IMO. i ve only played like 13hrs since then, but it only frooze 1 time. I went through Camp Forlorn Hope on an 11mb save sprinted around killed all NCR there as a test, and there was no choppiness or freezing.

I went there as for cl killed everyone there with another character it was all good 1 freeze in 13hrs is fixed. Before it was 1 freeze in 13 secs.

It hesitates once in a while, but does not freeze.

Still wondering if the game will work for me this time or not, guess I just have to try!

Oh, I miss it so much! The fallout universes are great, the engine, not that much :P

IMO Fallout NV actually got a good story, and is infact a great game! :) (If you don't mind all the bugs / pre-release)

If you hate it why are you even on here? Why did you even put in those two last sentences, they didn't add anything constructive to this thread? Troll get out of here

Was patch 1.05 actually meant to fix bug issues and freezes?

Played for an hour or so yesterday and npcs and monsters are still falling through the floors and I'm still experiencing freezes on certain characters, but some bugs I encounter are not universal and seem to only occur on certain characters.

Still might start a new character though.

I play on the PS3, and while the patch hasn't fixed everything 100%, the game is much more stable. A lot less lagging, a lot less freezing, and what I hate the most the dreaded load loop has gotten a lot less frequent. The game is actually more enjoyable post patch, since I'm not fighting freezes, and having to reset my console. My main game is a 12MB save file, and there is no chance I am starting that character over again. I'm sure Bethesda/Obsidian are keeping an eye on people's complaints over the next few weeks, and when Honest Hearts finally comes out, it will most likely have another patch to go with it. Which can fix even more of the issues that still exist post patch.

I can feel Auld Scads pain, the game froze on my every 2-5 min pre-patch, but it looks like their working on it, and putting alot of effort into it :)

Fallout 3 was even worse in this regard, 7 patches after it had been out for years, and still the most common problems haunt the game.

No it doesn't however this does: Obsidian is stuck on THE most god forsaken engien ever. Bethesda made the engien and frankly rushed out a game that wasn't finished, yep we better call in bethesda so they can fix obsidiansbethedas mistakes

i had very few problems with FO3. but thats not the point. The game is still riddled with bugs n freezing after 7 months! Not acceptable. NV has been the most frustrating game ive ever played

And i've had very few problems with nv. I did however have lots of trouble with HoI 3 but i didn't go to their forum and called it a bad game while whining

I didn't have problems with nv, you where unlucky. Lots of people had trouble with FO3. You act like it's all obsidians fault and this never happens in other games. It does

This patch is like the others. Band aid on a big wound. I would say most Fallout Junkies have a strong love for the game and just deal with the issues. At least that's where I'm at. It's frustrating as heck at times. But Fallout is so deep there is plenty of fun to be had. If you can learn to stomach the bugs, I don't see why you can't enjoy the heck out of the game. :)
