PS3 version fears.

Post » Tue May 03, 2011 8:54 am

I just saw that a similar topic got locked, bad form. These are valid concerns considering that Oblivion had a glitch so bad with the vampirism quest in the PS3 version that you couldn't cure yourself of vampirism, assuring that being a vampire is completely ruled out, this hasn't been mentioned by anyone at Bethesda and would be a retardedly easy fix, all the glitch is is the witch not registering the name of one of the ingredients correctly. All they need to do is rename the item or reset the parameters.

The DLC also hasn't been released for PS3 despite numerous questions about it, the only answers we got were "We'd love to have it on PSN." Not to mention a limit of 128 saves.

I get that the PS3 is hard to work on, but could you at least make sure the game is free of horrendous glitches and that any additional content gets out to us, Skyrim is out in a few months, the game is like 5 years old and we haven't even got horse armour. Whats the deal? Before you guys lock this and try to run away, give us a respectable answer. All I want is a patch for the vampirism glitch and the DLC, things that the 360 and PC versions both got as well as a glitch they never had to begin with.

If you guys don't do something to ensure us that the PS3 version is equal too or better then the other versions I might not get this. Even if my PC can handle it.

The mod basically summed it up...

Sony could buy exclusive content. Sony doesn't.

Microsoft could buy exclusive content. Microsoft does.

Chill bro. Beth won't make the asme mistakes, and if they do, they'll most likely patch it. Was this really worth starting a topic over?

Different platforms will invariably have unique glitches. It happens. Just hope for higher quality QA, which Fallout 3 seems to indicate.

just relax, todd said they would try to make all consoles equal so all games will run similar and will have the same bugs/glitches
also DLC is only released a month earlier on xbox and no DLC has even being confirmed yet or any deals with microsoft

I might believe this if they patched their last one. Theirs no excuse for not having the DLC, the PS3 got all of the Fallout DLC, but me and my oblivion are still waiting.

Skyrim might not be the same,it's too early to say. If you have that many fears, maybe you should buy a PC or an xbox :)
We don't know what glitches or bugs will appear with either platform, bethesda is working for all platforms to be the same.

It was ultimately a culmination of Microsoft paying BGS for exclusive content and PS3 still being a new console. Oblivion was out before the PS3 was even released, and even then the console was a nightmare to program on. Will this be the same case with Skyrim? Probably not. In terms of exclusive DLC though, you should really complain to Sony about it more so than BGS. Trust me, you aren't really missing much with horse armor anyways. As long as you got the main expansions of Knights of the Nine, Shivering Isles, and some of the cool fortresses we could own, you got the best content.

I'm not sure why you assume they'd patch it this time around when they didn't last time.

And while I will be playing this on my PC, I agree it is completely ridiculous they can't release everything fairly on each platform. (excluding mods)

Hopefully they'll have fixed whatever issues they previously had with Sony, as complications with them is the only possible explanation I can think of for their lack of support for PS3.

We got KotN and Shivering Isles, but not the house-related DLC. :( I still want Battlehorn Castle. It's so fitting for a knightly character such as my own.

Ah, it definitely is a nice fortress (not really much of a purpose though). Hopefully, there will already be castles implemented in Skyrim for the player to live in.

Also a PS3 owner here. I'm sure it will be much better for us this time around. Oblivion was not originally intended to be a PS3 game - correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Oblivion's release predate the launch of the PS3? So, basically, putting Oblivion on the PS3 was a bit of an afterthought. It was primarily a PC/Xbox game.

Then look at Fallout 3. Launched on all platforms at the same time. So from the off, we have a PS3 game. Initially, the DLC was only available to Xbox and PC, because microsoft flexed their monetary muscle while sony didn't. But Bethesda were never planning to leave us out. The DLC came to the PS3 a few months down the line.

I'm confident that Skyrim will be similar if not better. I think I remember Todd mentioning that they wanted to treat all platforms equally. I would imagine PS3 sales generate a lot of revenue, so it makes no sense to ignore the fans on that console. While it may sometimes seem as if companies are bias towards one platform or another, at the end of the day they're all about money, and as long as people are paying for PS3 games, the companies will love the PS3. I wouldn't be surprised if the Xbox gets a timed exclusive on the DLC again, but rest assured, sooner or later we'll get it too.

Just for the record.

I have a fairly decent PC and I've played Oblivion on it and I've gotten the DLC for it on PC, cause I got sick of waiting. It would just be good to hear that the PS3 finally got the DLC and patches it needs. It's disgusting that it hasn't.

Also, Micro$oft can lick my taint, I'm never buying another Xbox related product ever again. I went through three 360's, one of which ate two of my games. I've given them more then enough money for the rest of my life. I hope their company crashes hard. If I have to wait for another DLC or suffer through another PS3 only glitch, I'm never buying another gamesas product again.

If you have a decent PC, why not just play Skyrim on that? You will have access to mods, high resolution textures, AA and AAA, etc.

PS3 isn't going to get all the DLC and the patches. Oblivion wasn't even supposed to be on the PS3. BGS is also working tirelessly on Skyrim, so it's time to move on. Forgive and forget.

I have been through nine Xbox 360s, and luckily my current one is still working (never buy a first generation console). While the Xbox 360 is a horrible piece of hardware, they have the most quality exclusives and generally the better games than the other platforms. Keep in mind I'm getting Skyrim on PC as console hardware is starting to show it's age (although Skyrim does look fantastic on the Xbox 360).

Skyrim is being made with the utmost care to work seamlessly and well on all platforms. Todd has iterated this again and again that no matter what platform you are on, you will get the same quality experience. If there is exclusive DLC for the Xbox again, then you should complain to Sony (PS3 got exclusive DLC for Batman: AA and 360 didn't, oh well).

I am not a fan of any system i love my PS3, my 360 and my PC , but this forum as you can see :spotted owl: has a strong tendency towards 1 system it seems pretty harsh too and pretty open when you see some answers , some are indeed shocking and more shocking once you see who wrote them :turtle:

But don't worry i believe TES are meant to be pleyed on PC , mods, bug fixes , console for to respawn suicidal npcs, etc if you have a PC just get it for PC , just my opinion :icecream:

That's because the PS3 version was released in the middle of making Fallout 3, they didn't have the time or resources to spend on patching the PS3 version which is the hardest version to patch. This time around, all three platforms are getting it at the same time and they will all be equally attended to.

And to make sure that everyone knows, it's not like Bethesda's games are the only games with glitches, all games have glitches. At times it seems like people think that bugs are unique to Bethesda and somehow they are careless game developers.

lol i was the writer of the topic they blocked. im glad you see at the same way i do and the same way most ps3 TES fans see it. I know people our blaming sony but really, if bethesda wants to keep their ps3 fans happy, we should all get the same wuality for the price. they are treating us like the black people in the 1880's "Seperate but equal" its not right.

BULL.

Their exclusives consist of Gears of War. Since all of their other exclusives are mostly on PC, making them, NOT EXCLUSIVE. The PS3 Exclusives are ONLY on PS3, making them, guess what? EXCLUSIVE.

I cant STAND when people say that.

I actually have a pre-written response, hang on.

Lol wut?

Here are the lists, take a good long look.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Xbox_360-only_games

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:PlayStation_3-only_games

Didn't want to look? Here are the cliffnotes.

XBOX 360 -

Gears of War
Halo
Mass Effect 1
Alan Wake
Crackdown
Dead Rising 1
Saints Row 1
Forza
Perfect Dark Zero
Too Human
Banjo-Kazooie
Bomberman
Fable
Left 4 Dead
Ninety-Nine-Nights
XBLA Arcade Indy Games > PSN Indy Games (You needed this, trust me.)

Playstation 3 -

3D Dot Game Heros
God Of War
Little Big Planet
Metal Gear Solid 4
Demons Souls
Disgaea
Final Fantasy
Gran Turismo 5
Heavy Rain
Heavenly Sword
Warhawks
inFAMOUS
Uncharted
Killzone
Resistance
MAG
Motorstorm
MLB: The Show (Having an exclusive sports game is at least something to note)
Ninja Gaiden
PixelJunk
Ratchet and Clank
SOCOM
Twisted Metal
Valkyria Chronicles
Wipeout
White Night Chronicles
Yakuza
Haze

Not to mention half of the 360 "exclusives" can be played on the PC (and I own a few). This exclusives argument is only ever brought up by delusional 360 [censored], and is then shot down by every other console.

I'm not bashing? I'm proving someone wrong. I never said anywhere one console was inferior. Just pointed out the gross misconception regarding exclusives. Thats the only post I intend to make on this matter.

I'm sure they'll take care of any bugs/glitches in future patches.

I'm more concerned that the graphically fidelity of the PS3 version will take a hit to compensate for not enough PS3 development time.
