Ps3? Xbox? not fair for Pc owner's

Post » Tue Feb 03, 2009 11:46 am

They Had better keep it on consoles because they would never be forgiven if it was only on pc, I mean think of all the disgruntled gamers who can't play it in their favourite format. So please just be pleased that it was not solely made for consoles, or even wii. Imagine that!!! if they made it for wii and no-one else, man that would really get the blood boiling.

They should optimize the game for consoles only and drop the pc version.
lol....jk

I hope we can all play the same game on all platforms someday so i don`t have 2 listen 2 all the crap from everyone...

They should have made another version for the PC. Crytek wants money and I don't object, just don't tone down the PC version just because the weak consoles can't handle it.

Please listen to us crytek!!!

it was a PC only game in the first place so your argument is invalid.

Hey guys,

As mentioned before many times, there is no scaling down on Crysis 2 for the consoles. Obviously there are performance differences between all the platforms but our goal was and remains to provide an excellent gameplay experience that is equal across all platforms.

We are not compromising features that we think would work really well just because it's difficult to do on a console, when presented with issues like this it just means we have to work harder to optimize what we're doing to ensure we can make it happen.

We've been paying a lot of attention to multiplayer (we have an entire studio working exclusively on this!) and we're confident that 12 players fits with our multiplayer design extremely well and provides the best gameplay experience possible.

Hopefully in the coming months you'll be able to see more media and perhaps even get hands on with the game yourself, keep an eye on gamesas.com for all the latest info on this :)

What about HALO 3, HALO REACH, GEARS OF WAR 2 AND 3, KILLZONE,
RESISTANCE... that was unfair for pc owners.

If you wanted to play this games you had to buy 360 or ps3. So why shouldn't pc gamers have one fps only for pc.

Editors tend to require considerably more horsepower than finished products. Look at it like the difference between a game and a media player.
Any half-baked system can play a DVD, because the media is fully rendered.
It takes more power to render on the fly, such as in a game.

Just like it takes more power to build and originally render within a game engine than it does to run a game inside the engine.

I fully expect that if sandbox3 is released, even though Crytek's version allows cross-platform building from one platform, it does so using massive computing power that just isn't available on consoles.

the only thing worse than a broken caps lock button is someone who can't be assed to keep holding shift down.

And coming from a PC player who supports the move to consoles, you manage to sound even to me like someone who justifies playing on console with controls that match their reflexes by insulting superior hardware.

PC gamers may all have different motives for why we play what we play, but to lump every PC gamer into MMOs and CSS is like saying every console gamer is a slack-jawed lazy sheep that buys too much into marketing hype and wishes they could play multiplayer co-op Bejeweled.

To put that in a simpler format for you, if you don't want people knocking your platform, don't knock ours.

you also do realise that crytek said they are never going to make another pc exclusive title because of piracy issues. Now im not a console fanboy im far from it i have a custom built pc that i play all the time but crytek knows that the mapping community is going to be alot bigger on the consoles as apposed to the pc community. I am not saying the pc community isnt big im just saying would u rather gain more popularity by making a game on all next gen consoles or just the pc. Not only do u gain more popularity by doing it u get more money think about that

Uhm, the relative size of the mapping and mod community per platform will probably depend on the power and ease of use of the tools more than on assumptions of happy hamsters.

I'm actually aware of why they're doing it, and not one of the detractors of the concept. In fact, the majority of my response to you was to point out that caps, painting with a giant brush, and saying nothing don't contribute much to a discussion.

And thats exactly the problem.. you have to consider weaker console-hardware (4 years old now) and high end pcs.
Your attempt is honorable.. but there is now way that crysis 2 will be something "state of the art" on pcs in 2011.
At least not the same way Crysis was in 2007.
Otherwise cancel the pc version and start working on a new raytracing based engine that will finally please pc enthusiast gamers.
But in all statements the pcs are not a big thing to consider with crysis 2.
Its like you have to kiss the ass of every console gamer to buy this game.
Your plattform isnt weak..we dont need to scale down... rubbish!
You better start arguing why a pc gamer who spent 1500 Euros on his new high end pc should buy this game if it has the same limitations as the consoleversion. Otherwise you will see these guys pissed off when crysis 2 appears. These guys are your true fans since far cry and Crysis 1. And with Crysis 2 for consoles..you kick them in the nuts.
