So,
simple question. Is Xbox any better for the multiplayer?
I bought Crysis 2 on PS3, single player looks good to me, but my real passion is for multiplayer which is laggy and horrible.
NAT type is moderate on Crysis 2,but has always been NAT type open on all COD series etc.
Could be a port forwarding issue with Crysis 2, haven't seen many port forwarding recommendations apart from the ones in the back of the Crysis manual.

I can't even get my PC version to be moderate. Got tons of ports forwarded... no luck. Will get my xbox version tomorrow and see if that's any better, but in general, most MPs are best bought on xbox, simply because there's generally more people playing on xbox at any given time in any game and the xbox gets the best support of all platforms for pretty much any game around. Wish it wasn't so, but it's a sad fact.

Is it still laggy on XBOX?
Tinternet wise, I can get around 16GB download, 1GB upload with pings of 20-30ms which I consider to be pretty good/good enough for online gaming.
However, if I am likely to get the same prob with XBOX, then I will stick with the PS3 and forget multiplayer.

I spose the litmus test, would be to borrow and XBOX with cystitis 2 and sign-into someone's account and play using my tinternet. Otherwise ￡153 XBOX 4GB, ￡38 cystitis 2 for XBOX and Xbox Live 48 Hours Gold Subscription ￡2.50!

im on ps3 and get no lag tbh. played since day one 3 bars 90% of the time. ive had no prob with joining/finding matches.
only thing that is bugging the hell out of me is the NAT. mine is always moderate yet my ps3 is in dmz on netgear router. thats my only gripe

Hi, how do you know whether you are lagging or not?
I know I am lagging, because I see someone, I shoot for a second, I die without any shooting from that player and in the kill cam the other player has been shooting for a second or two!
Pretty obvious that I am lagging.
On most FPS multiplayer's, I am usually around a KDR of 2.5, nothing special, but I am happy enough with that. I am currently on a KDR of 1.4 on cystitis 2 and that's only with cloak and surprise from behind tactics which is getting boring!
I am interested to hear/see if xbox is generally better. you will always get the odd complaint about lag but I haven't heard/seen anything substantial on xbox forum.

I should get my xbox version tomorrow... I'll try to give you a speedy update. Then again, if you already have PS3 version,... why would you want another console version? I thought I'm already crazy for getting PC+Xbox version.

I'm playing on the Xbox and so far I never had any problems with lag. Although I have pretty much the worst internet you can get in Germany. Just around 250 kb/s download ( hell yeah ! ) and about 75 kb/s upload .

There are one or two problems with lag on xbox, but no more than any other online game played via P2P servers. In most games there will always be one guy that takes far too many bullets to kill, but other than that the xbox version is solid and fun to play.

apart from lag problems which are everywhere at the moment, for shooters you should go with Xbox as the playerbase for them is waaaay higher.

I think I will go down the XBOX route once again.
I used to have the very first xbox360, you know, the white one that I had to buy a 20GB hard drive on top.
It had no HDMI or optical output and I never went online with it.
The nice new piano black ones have HDMI and optical. Should work nice and sweet, straight out the box with my Astro A40's!
I will probably keep the PS3 for the kids, little big planet probably being the only reason. Fantastic fun game!

Just because MP games are often better played on xbox should mean to give up on the PS3. PS3 has some awesome games too,... not just for kiddies

But yeah... for MP, in a lot of cases (if not most), xbox is the right choice... but I'd never advise anybody to get an xbox for just one game. LIVE is not worth it for just one game me thinks. It's only worth it if you intend on using the box for more than 1 game. Just my 2 cents.

Because the gameplay mechanics in Crysis 2 are better and more interesting for the MP. The MP feels a lot better (IMHO).
