PS4 framerate issues (Bethesda please read)

Post » Thu Nov 26, 2015 3:47 pm

Bethesda, are you going to fix the ps4 framerate issues? You can't just have pete lie and say fallout 4 runs at a solid 30fps on all consoles when it clearly doesn't. This is unacceptable, I pre-ordered your game on the basis you wouldn't [censored] playstation players for a THIRD time. If you do not get the ps4 version up to snuff, I guarantee you will lose a huge margin of profits as more people own a ps4 than an xbox one. Get your [censored] together bethesda

Posted a similar thread and it got removed so expect the same. I'm going to wait to see just how bad the issues are first hand before I complain but it will be so disappointing if the issues are severe, especially after Bethesda's reputation for screwing over Playstation.

You already downloaded the game herein Europe won't let us download it at all on Psn. So far frame rate is a minor stuff compared with no game at all at launch

There have been multiple threads regarding issues people have been having with the early copies they've received, two of which regarding this frame rate issue. Mods are locking threads regarding any issues being had with the game until its official release. You should probably wait until then before losing your cool.

I watched some of these videos and the drop wasn't to bad, it was low to mid twenties. No doubt it can be annoying, but I'm sure Bethesda will get it taken care of in a week or two.

Everyone please stop panicking.....the headlines are riding the hype train for clicks.....how can you fools not see this is dramatic clickbait to get fearful, hyped, gamers to click all over their links out of fear their favorite game might be broken.....your clicks mean cash to these clowns, I hope you freaking realize that. Anyone who watched the supposed "proof" videos could see that fps drops are minor to nonexistent.....the fps dropped to 25 at the absolute worst. So everyone chill out, everything is ok, the game is indeed perfect in every way, and there is nothing to worry about.

You are complaining based upon leaked experiences from half way across the planet from people who got the game two weeks early due to a retailer breaking street date in Europe. Add to this the fact that it seems like a large part of the internet just wants to take a dump on Fallout in any way they can and you have a situation ripe with misinformation. This is just silly.

Mind none of the people even playing it early have the day 1 patch installed because it is still T-Minus 21h 22m as of this writing BEFORE IT IS EVEN DAY ONE.

tl;dr quit bellyaching until you actually have a chance to SEE IF THE THING ACTUALLY HAS PROBLEMS.

It's probably not that bad. I read one article about this online and they didn't say much about how often this occurs. It was also leaked from a guy that usually leaks game stuff apparently, so I don't have much faith in this. They said something about some framedrop with the volumetric fog and when beeing inside a building/house. For all we know this could be a issue that rarely occurs, that only affects some buildings or outside areas. We don't know, and the game is yet to be officially released (and possibly patched) therefore we don't have to panic over this :P

More than likely you're right, but people are nervous because they're worried it will turn into the FO 3, NV, Skyrim debacle.

As a PlayStation 4 owner I was worried at first, but after watching the videos I decided it wasn't that bad.

This.

The only basis for any legitimate concern on this thread is by people who actually have the game in front of them, with the day one patch installed.

Anyone?

There are also people spamming youtube feeds with:

'FO4 PS4 frame rate svcks - the game is [censored]'

You think they are doing that as a public service or to make mischief, hmmm?

Oh, and OP:

Before you start getting all huffy and accusing people of deceit,

Mr first time poster dude.

Can you please confirm your experience is on your personal copy with patch installed?

I've been watching people stream and the gameplay as far as I can tell never stutters at all. I'm not saying it doesn't stutter, I just haven't seen it in general exploration gameplay. I think someone finds a bug, posts it and it becomes the focus of every trolls attention. Don't feed the trolls people!

Just wait for the GOTY to come out if you want to play on consoles. All previous FO and TES games have major problems on consoles (still to this day), this one will be no different.

I can definitelt understand the panic though, imagine the hypetrain and then suddenly facing the possibility of what Skyrim was like on the PS3 haha. I'm a PS4 Gamer too in the UK, and would be sorely dissapointed if the framerate issue was crap like W3 on PS4. They only just finally fixed it up after many months lol.

Well we know copies went out early in some parts, mostly Europe.

Has anyone here actually played on PS4 themselves yet?

Anyone?

(or are they too busy playing?)

Even if its true why is it a big deal, they will fix it eventually, they did in skyrim and now that game runs so buttery smooth compared to its launch.

Bethesda fixed Skyrim.

You say funny things.

Also, compared to its launch is a very swollen qualifier.

I'll be able to play tonight (European time... about 7h from now), without D1Patch, though. But I can report about performance problems. Patched version will have to wait until tomorrow evening, while a stress test (to see how it will behave after running for a considerable stretch of time) will be able on Friday at the earliest, which is probably too late for many.

Make this thread go away. If some frame rate drops are the biggest issue that anybody playing the game has come up with to nitpick about then we've got a pretty solid game from day one.

Not to mention the 25 second loading times entering/exiting buildings.

thats not true, i used an xbox 360 for my bethesda games and i had 2 xbox 360s and they both played fallout 3, fallout NV, oblivion, skyrim etc all perfectly fine, there were no MAJOR issues for me ever, sure an occasional reboot but nothing gamebreaking and i had all those at launch, now on the ps3 there were some issues i heard but never on my xbox's.

Almost half a minute is not 'nothing'. I can name at least 2 other open world RPGs with zero load times going in and out of buildings.

One would have thought Bethesda would have improved their game engine by this point, but it seems they haven't.
