Ok so this is my first post, I really love this game but have hit what seems like a dead-end glitch and am hoping for some advice.


I am on the 'The Big Dig' > 'Dig to the Strongroom'. I had travelled a fair way through, blowing through several walls, and I reach a wall I need to click 'activate' on so Sonya the robot will do her thing. Only Mel is standing in the way and clicking activate won't do anything. It's like it froze, so I threw some grenades around and shot Mel a bunch of times trying to get him to move, didn't work so I saved the game, exited the game, reloaded the game and this time I capped Mel with 2 direct head shots and all of a sudden Sonya does her thing and blows the wall down.


After this I make it through, only now Mel is on attack mode constantly and Me, Bobbi & Vincent keep having to put him down cos he won't leave us alone, I can't talk to him either.


NOW I've reached another wall to blow down but clicking activate has NO effect. Mel is going crazy, I've tried everything but am stuck at this wall with crazy Mel.


Has anyone encountered this? Any ideas or suggestions?

One must wait more than 5 hours. Sometimes more than one day. People are at work and school now in the US

Exit the cave, wait for 24-48 hours then comes back, hostile NPC will reset after a day or two. It's not a glitch, hostile NPC won't help you and Sonya takes orders from Mel. You could also reset back to before he goes hostile.

Some npc can block the area you need to activate, you can try to sneak/jump/push whatever you can do, to get access to the small area you need to activate. I had to try for about 20 minutes (PC) to be able to reach the area since npc did block it. Sometimes reload may fix things also. http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/The_Big_Digon wiki.

I exited the cave and slept for 24 hours which fixed the problem of Mel attacking me (thanks again), but I still can't click on the wall to activate it.


Mel seems to acknowledge what I'm doing but nothing happens, everyone just stands around.


I will keep trying different things to make it work though, or I'll just give up on completing this mission (thanks Bethesda).

Actually I'm gonna trade it in for Far Cry or get GTA 5 again never had any problems with that. "Glitchiest game of the year" is a fair title.
