PC, PS4 or XBOX One - What are you getting your game on?

Post » Sat Nov 28, 2015 9:12 am

Just a little survey but I will give you some background info for why I have asked this question. My husband and I are big gamers, PC, console, doesn't really matter but our PC is on it's way out and definitely too old to handle Fallout 4 on full specs. We got a PS4 a while back but traditionally favored the XBOX 360. A few days ago my husband won a free XBox One and now I'm not sure what we should get the game on.

PS4 has better graphics usually but XBox One will have mod capabilities before the PS4. I love mods but I also want it to look as good as possible.

So without starting a flame war because both consoles and PC have their own strengths and weaknesses.... what are you planning on getting the game on?

PC, better mod ding capabilities, hopefully better graphic settings, also like using mouse and keyboard more than controller

Ps4, considering getting an Xbox One to replace my ancient 360 and thus changing my preorder to Xbox One.

Xbox One since I already have one, I too am uninterested in the console wars or the whole PC master race joke.

One thing I would say about the consoles is despite the PS4 supposed better graphics, Xbox One ran the Witcher 3 without many of the problems reported by PS4 gamers. So far I haven't had any problems running any open world RPG on the Xbox.

My only reason for considering moving to the PC was for the Mods.

Xbox one. Pip-Boy Edition.

I usually end up getting the other ones like Skyrim, FO3, and FONV a little later after I'm done with the console version on PC. So I'll be doing the same with FO4, just to get the ability to mod more than whatever the XOne's modding capabilities will be.

It's just bandwagon hate in regards to Xbox One. It's a solid machine.

and hating consoles in general is just what's cool these days, for the "PC master race" crowd.

I prefer to just play on whatever the hell I feel like, and if one version has slight drawbacks from another (such as modding on console vs PC) I'll usually get another copy much later when they're on sale.

I'll be playing on PS4. I'd rather play it on PC because of mods, but not having high speed internet limits the use of a gaming PC, especially considering the cost.

About the graphics being better on PS4, is it really noticeable?

I'll be getting it on PC - but that's because it's what I have, and from modding Skyrim I expect the modding tools will need a fairly hefty machine (which mine is) to run well.

Remember that FO4 isn't exactly going to be pushing the graphics envelope in the first place. I'd be surprised if the Xbox One can't render it as well as the PS4.

PC. I wonder how much over 1080p http://www.engadget.com/2014/12/19/msi-gt72-dominator-review/ will run it.

Huh, a poll would have been a nice idea. Anyway, I'm getting it on the PS4 because it is my system of choice when it comes to video games.

A poll would be better way to get your info. Like this one a few weeks ago with 220 going PC, 55 Xbox, and 60 PS4. http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1519454-what-platform-are-you-going-to-play-on/

I'm on Xbox.

Preordered on Steam for my PC. Just have to upgrade to 16 GB of RAM (can never have too much).

Xbox one first. Then later for my PC when the game has its bugs ironed out and some quality mods has been released.

Im in a similar position of my pc (most likely) not being on par to run Fallout 4, so I got my hands on a PS4 pip boy edition, not a big mod user, so I don't mind the lack of mod use for a while.

PC. It will be great on every platform though so no worries.

Should be a poll OP.

Given that it's my only "next gen" platform, PC.

Of course, even if I had a PS4, I'd still go PC for this, due to better modding & better controls (I can't do first person with controller. Gotta have my keyboard & mouse )

Most probably Xbox 1 because my comp is getting old. I won't know for sure until November.

I thought you had to be an older member to post polls.

But anyway some good notes. I don't know why people are hating on the graphics so much, aside from the awkward mouth movements it looks pretty good. Maybe not the Witcher 3 good but still excellent. Better then Skyrim or Fallout 3 or NV.

But you are right, any console can probably run it with very little difference in graphics but does anyone know if there is a console that does shadow and light better? Aside from texture that seems like the most important thing.
