Pseudo-Medieval versus Alien World

There has been a growing divide in the TES fanbase over the previous 3 games (give or take 1) between those who want a more "generic medieval" fantasy game along the lines of Europe, versus those who want a more unique and strange world where things aren't necessarily similar to what you can find on Earth. There is also a division between those who want a more action-oriented game and those who want a more deliberately paced game with more emphasis on culture, personalities, interactions, and a coherent history.

The question is: Does it make sense to branch TES out into TWO game series, a more traditional medieval fantasy that relies mainly on a mix of "standard" fantasy elements and real wildlife, and a more imaginative and fanciful world where almost anything goes, as long as it's consistent with the setting?

I hope not, because given the trend of the last two games, I think the main series will get the "generic" setting and the "imaginative" thread will be given the short stick, at best adventure games like Redguard possibly comissioned to the likes of Obsidian for spin-offs that you can't even be sure are canon.
