Psn down aghhhhhhhh

By the time PSN is back up, you would've saved up enough to buy a 360 anyway. :P

Thankfully you had a ":P" at the end or I would consider you a troll. Anyhow I just don't see why would someone want to anger millions of people just to get some kicks. Like ...I can't put words to it. I believe who maybe responsible is ether anonymous , hackers that are not part of anonymous and I highly doubt this one hackers hired by ether Nintendo or Microsoft( But that is just silly).

Japan (home of Sony) has just suffered an earthquake, tsunami and ongoing nuclear crisis resulting in deaths of 1000's and your all complaining about not being able to waste your lives away this weekend... Sad.

Please don't mistake the living of our lives to be inconsideration and cruelty. The sad truth is there is always suffering in the world. Dwelling under the influence of that misery all the time is no way to live a life. I'm sure most of us feel saddened for what has happened and send our best wishes to the occupants of Japan, but we do have our own lives to live and gaming is most certainly a part of our lives. Why sulk all the time?

This is completely ridiculous. The day I get Mortal Kombat, the network goes down and hasn't been back up. I really don't get this crap, why are they rebuilding PSN? I understand they don't want to be hacked again but this is just taking too long.

I really don't know what to say >_> this is really irritating.

"Sony officials have yet to issue an ETA for when the network might reappear. However, the source speaking to PlayStation Universe claims that Japanese servers should start reappearing on Monday, with U.S. and E.U. servers popping back up on Tuesday."

I hope this is true..

I wonder if this is all a scam. Now Sony can say this has cost them lots of money and to ensure safe procedurers not that PSN will cost money just like Xbox live. This way Sony gets what they always wanted, pay for multiplayer and not look like that bad guy doing so.

They will fixed everything up, but not it's a pay for serivce and there will be PSN + like Live Gold and PSN like Live Silver.

They will use the excuse to keep everything safe and secure, it will cost extra money so now will have to be a pay for service.

I have no problem with paying as long as the service is actually worth the money, if not I won't waste my time.

Sony disagrees:

Sony isn't saying much about the PlayStation Network outage, but a new update doesn't give us much hope for a speedy resolution. Even worse is the fact the company doesn't seem to know if your financial data has been compromised. Sleep tight!

Satoshi Fukuoka, a spokesman for Sony Computer Entertainment in Tokyo, spoke with PCWorld and claimed the company "has not yet determined if the personal information or credit card numbers of users have been compromised, but that Sony would promptly inform users if it found that was the case."

Luckily, Sony's Patrick Seybold has yet another update to let us all know that Sony doesn't have much of a clue about when this mess will get fixed. "Unfortunately, I don't have an update or timeframe to share at this point in time," he wrote. "As we previously noted, this is a time intensive process and we're working to get them back online quickly. Will keep you updated with information as it becomes available. We once again thank you for your patience."

Since you can't play your games online, why not use that extra time to double-check your credit and debit card records?

I agree with the article as well, if you have credit or debit card information saved to the PSN you should make sure there aren't fraudulent charges on them.

According to reddit: http://www.reddit.com/r/gaming/comments/gx6o4/im_a_moderator_over_at_psxscenecom_the_real22:27:56

Everything in there is inline with my own knowledge of events, and it certainly seems plausible. Serves sony right for trusting data they're getting from a client, really.

This has to svck for the PS3 owners. Something needs to be done to the pirates, all of the pirates in fact and if any data has been stolen from users that's possible fraud (Although I would throw the book and key at the pirates but I digress). I really hope Sony doesn't come out and says "yup the problem has been solved we further reinforced our firewalls" because they need to go after the snake and chop it's head off. This problem will continue until Sony puts it's foot down and stamps out the stupid Pirates. Leaving them alone is not the answer because they will continue to pirate. There is no way that you can side with them not after the harm that they've done to Sony and the PS3.

a group called "anonymous" hacked PSN as a sigh of wanting internet rights....... 1 geohots' was sud for jailbreaking his PS3....... "anonymous" stated they only wanted to target sony & not PS3 users.......BUT sense sony is to fking stubborn they refused to give jailbreaking rights...so anonymous shut the servers so PS3 users would give up on sony & go to xbox (loseing income) so now sony is at war with "anonymous" so until sony gives jailbreaking rights.......the war goes on ( THIS IS WUT I HEARD, K?)

Why don't tehy do it to Xbox, they don't allow jailbrekign either (right) and who the [censored] are they to that, stupid little [censored].

This is the bigger problem, Annoymous may say that they are going after Sony but this also gives them the perfect cover to go after users who they hate or are ridiculously good at online games that the hacking group plays. Sony should put their foot down because this won't stop until they do. I'm all for giving users more freedom but there's a line in the sand and the pirates have crossed it.

You think Anonymous is going to go after gamers? You have seriously misinterpreted the groups intentions. The recent attack has nothing to do with Anonymous. Anonymous is not in the habit of stealing games from the PS network, which is what this latest firmware update enabled some less morally inhibited people to do. If you read the Reddit link that was posted, you will find out why the network is down.

Please don't show your ignorance in public, its not a good look.

You do realise the servers in question are located in Amazon's centre in North Virginia right? Has there been a tsunami there recently?

Oh, really? Well disregard everything I've just said, I want PSN back! And no I'm not aware of any recent tsunamis in north Virginia, am I mistaken.

That's cute.

Maybe you should be directing your ire at the ineptitude at Sony because they couldn't implement network security with their firmware update?
