psn skyrim makeshift multiplayer online

Post » Fri Dec 16, 2011 5:51 pm

I was thinking, I like Skryim in every respect. What I especially like however is talking about the game with others who play it.

I was thinking that we could just us the PSN texct chat system, add each other, and then syncronize gameplay.

Like we could choose a city to meet in and do quests together, and just talk on the system. Sort of a pseudo multiplayer experience. I think it could be pretty epic with the right crowd and right players.

Right now I dont have any details decided beyond that, or even if others would dig this kind of thing. So what Im looking for right now is an idea of who would be interested, and some ideas for how it might work.

It would be better if you used Ventrillo and had a computer or laptop close by instead of text chat.

Well yeah but from what I gather, that is just to prevent flame wars and such. Where is Im not proposing putting it in the game, but rather for those of us who are interested, a way to make the experience happen. I saw that thread but didnt feel that what I am doing or organizing fit that discussion. I hope you understand.

That's what the Demon's Souls community did for a long time. Of course, that game is multi-player, but purposefully has no way to communicate with other players (good design decision, but after a while you want to talk to the other players you know). It was fun.

No. This is a possible RP workaround for PS3, 360, and PC, just with different messaging systems. Frankly it won't even really work. You stumble on to one different random event (Like Player 1 meeting the Imperials transporting a Stormcloak Prisoner and Player 2 meets the Redguards looking for the traitor. Immersion broken. Plus, that seems like it would take WAY to long.
