Dude dont come in here and start turning this in to a console war.

It's just a place where people can post up info we may have missed about it.

IGN suggested Sony credit everyones account with a free download. That would be pretty cool.

You do realise that this could have happened to Xbox right.

Dumb Hackers I hope Sony put their foot down. I'd be pretty pissed off if somebody got my credit card number by hacking.

Free stuff is not the answer what they need to do is stamp out the piracy and yes if it takes people being arrested, charged with a crime and going to jail in order to stop it then so be it. This is getting ridiculous, I'm kinda glad I got the 360 all those years ago but the PS3 users deserve better then to let these hackers push sony around.

No, no it couldn't. This isn't a denial of service, this is sony's security system being... well, not being. It's a catalog of failures that will serve as a shining beacon of "Don't do this" for years to come.

Because "Hackers" aren't a magical force of nature, and a similar attack vector for xbox live simply doesn't exist. While certainly there may be vulnerabilities, there are almost certainly none as serious, or as open, as this one.

Must be one of the few times MS is being refered as hacker and virus safe :P

Your right but this group could have just as easily decided to hack Microsoft and steal their information.
