Just another reason why Sony is leagues behind Microsoft in regards to online services.

Not at all. They specifically said "some" services. This could be ugly.

Well, frankly, that's what happens when you base all of your security on obscurity.

I dunno if anyone's seen it yet, but http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/109568-Sony-Admits-Private-PSN-Info-Has-Been-Stolen-All-Of-It says that everyone's private information was stolen...

EDIT: Oh, wow, just realized that's what the article in the OP says. I honestly only barely skimmed it.

Damn hackers! Will it be easy to hide from Sony? I mean is it easy holding onto all that info and still be able to lay low?

Take a look at the comments.. Little kids with their moms credit cards People are furious, yet they seem a little misguided.

Really, how can some of you all react this way, a person going for information isnt going to make it so blatantly clear of what they took, just think of the other information scandals where to this day it is unknown what information they ran off with…Employing a security firm even seems to indicate that it took a lot of work to just find out what happened, certainly nothing known on the eve of last Tuesday…

He has the right idea. At least they caught it early, and there taking precautions to make sure that everyones information is safe. Theres no guarantee that this "hacker" cared about anyones information, wanted to steal accounts, etc. etc.

So lets lets Sony clean up this little mess, fix their servers, stop the hackers, and then thank them for keeping us up to date. :)

Just another reason why Sony is leagues behind Microsoft in regards to online services.

A unique, isolated incident 4 1/2 years into the PS3's availability really doesn't say that much about Sony's online services.

Cute...

Thank them for keeping us updated? Seriously? Their terrible service was compromised and potentially tons of information was stolen from potentially hundreds of thousands of people. The least they can do is keep us updated.

I agree; we should all act respectful & give Sony all the time they need to fix it.

Which is why I mentioned it's just another reason.

While there is no evidence at this time that credit card data was taken, we cannot rule out the possibility.

Well, that's reassuring.... so are the three or four paragraphs after that. As long as this doesn't happen again. I could care less about these people knowing my name and address, but CC information is bad news. I hope no one gets into deep [censored] over this, other than the people responsible.

I just wanna download the GTA DLC, damnit!!

And those stupid assed Microsoft representatives sometimes give me trouble for wanting to remove personal info linked to my gamertag.

It sort of does. Maybe not about the quality of the service, but certainly about the quality of who built it!

What do you mean? Your personal info isn't publicly displayed but they still have to have it in their records.

And how many times has Microsoft been hacked since its founding in 1975? And have you ever heard of a JTag, perhaps? Your argument is irrelevant.

ON TOPIC: I was looking through the links that they had listed, and it appears that Puerto Rico may have suffered the blunt of the hackers. I hope for their sake that the hackers didn't get their credit card information. :sadvaultboy:

And you seriously want me to accept that you're not trying to annoy PS owners?! Please stop insulting Sony, as I said this is related to PSN's current state not a comparison between Xbox and PS online sevices (which would definitely lead to a console war :P ).

EDIT: Just trying to be a little more polite. Excuse me if I got worked up when I see people critizing my console of choice :whistling:
