No, no mechanic to discourage combat!

I agree. It's in pretty bad taste. I know people who've suffered from PTSD and would rather not see Bethesda make light of something like that.
Obviously you've never met, or seen the effects that PTSD has on a person. Otherwise you wouldn't say something so disrespectful, whether you mean to or not.
Hell no, I don't want my character to be a pansy. Also would make no sense if you play as a psycho
Just by saying that they are both injuries is disrespectful?
OP I don't think PTSD works like that. You don't just catch PTSD randomly and cure it with pills or a doctor's visit. Maybe a "panic" type mechanic will do but no mental illness type game mechanics.
to the idea ,NO I'm twitchy enough as it is I don't need my character as bad as I am.
No, it's not something that should be covered lightly in a video game.
What is wrong with you? pansy? I'm sure vets who suffer from it will love to be called that.
The fact you ask "What's the big deal?" means you have zero grasp of what PTSD actually is.
I'll be right back.
Gotta go get some goats for this particular bridge.

I'm not trying to be disrespectful, I thought PTSD was a psychological injury.
Nice try.
+10 for effort. You had me going for a bit.
Yeah, I don't think it's one of those things that can be implemented as a mechanic in a game.
reminds me of people who wanted a whole animation sequence of knocking on a door and waiting for an npc to answer before entering each house.
You all do know that they touched on this in New Vegas with Corporal Betsy's quest "I Don't Hurt Anymore"?
I agree it's not something to be taken lightly by any means.
How about that incident with Lily, where you can convince her about the pills? Although it's not PTSD but supermutant transformation.
It's not something I'd like to see personally. I play games to have fun, and to get away from RL things like that.
Nothing is wrong with me. Shep had pansy moments when they forced it on her/him in ME3 and I don't want that in Fallout (nor any other game) is what I'm saying. Unless it's a dialogue choice people can use to RP. I just want my character to stay unflinching at the sight of carnage or whatever it is that triggers PTSD because I couldn't relate to them otherwise.
