I've done everything. It says cleared. Won't leave the active quests. Any protips?

You maybe have missed something..... like going back to speak to the quest giver.... if you don't get a well done or something.... you probably missed something else.

I killed everybody at the car factory I thought...... except the main target, got him later.

At first it wasn't complete so I went back but by then he had gone bad. Become a raider. So I then proceeded to kill him and his band off, getting the clear. I then went back to a load point before this to talk to him and got no different reply from him. What I think happened is when I originally helped him, once I stopped the leaks and the mirelurks came out I didn't kill the all then. Anything else I can try?

As far as I can tell, the "normal" way through this situation is to take him at his word, agree to plug the leaks and then restart the pump when he offers to let you do so. You have already found you get a few Mirelurks popping out of the machinery. Make sure you don't hit him as you kill them and he should comment that it will take some time to drain the quarry and he cannot reward you with anything other than a few caps. He should still be non-hostile.

As for what happens next...

After a bit of in-game time, the quarry will flip permanently over to its drained-with-raiders form and he will be the end boss of the quarry. They may send out a raiding party or two if there are weak settlements nearby. Once you wipe the place out, it will eventually respawn with new raiders and a generic raider tough at the end.

There are clues that this will happen in his terminal.

You have to talk to him again(if you let him live) after turning the pump on and killing the mirelurks.

What I did: read his terminals - walked up to him - shot him in the face - closed the valves - turned the pump on and ran from the mirelurks - quest was completed.

Thanks. Sorry bout spoilers. How do I hide them? Yeah so still haven't been able to close that one down. Pretty sure i got everything at the later stage in that quest. What I don't understand is that if I didn't complete it in the early stage how did the quest progress to allow me to complete the thicket excavation area?
