Purchasing multiple copies of Imperial Edition. Possible?

Post » Fri Feb 14, 2014 9:41 am

I want to give my sister the Imperial Edition as a birthday gift, and I was wondering if I can make multiple purchases of said Edition on the same account.

One would be mine, of course, while the other I would give her as a gift.

Any answer would be appreciated.

Don't see why not. Each purchase would have it's own activation code, so they'd be separate installations.

Hopefully it won't let you, that would be a waste :)

You'll need two accounts to play the game on two different computers simultaneously (and need to pay 2 subs too).

Considering I live in Brazil and my sister lives in Maryland, I don't think that particular issue would be a problem. :twirl:

This is my doubt.

If I buy both copies, she can then activate one of them for her own account, did I understand you correctly?

Yeah. The code goes with an individual copy of the game. If you activate one and your sister activates the other, you should be good to go. You ought to be able to play on the same computer too (I know, that would be difficult for you :)), just not at the same time.

You'll need separate email addresses too, but I don't suppose that's a problem. :D

I've run into a problem. I did order one Imperial Edition digitally from the official site, and it did not send me any codes to be redeemed. Instead, it automatically assigned the Imperial Edition to my account.

Now I'm decidedly wary of purchasing the second copy (the one I want to give out as a gift), since it seems there is no code sent by the official site.

Should I simply go to a place like Amazon and make the second purchase from there?

Just create a new account and email account. Only takes a few mins and will save you all this frustation. Whatever your email address is keep it the same and just add a 1 at the end. Then create a new ESO account with that email and purchase the game that way.

I'm gonna have to spoil the gift, I will likely have to call my sister and have her create an account she will use, then pay through my CC. Oh well, I was hoping the website would send in codes instead of auto-linking.

P.S.: In fact, the site doesn't even let me order a second copy, I see "You already own this game" on the store.

Under what circumstances can you imagine that you would not be allowed to purchase multiple copies of the game?

Under the circumstance I am right now. I cannot purchase a second copy from the official website, because it linked my first purchase directly with my account, without a code redeem operation.

And now it simply does not even let me click on the items at the store anymore.

So I can only purchase a second copy if I create another account or use amazon for example. But amazon is not an option if I want to keep the gift a surprise, since the online pre-order code requires a US billing address, which I do not have, so I would have to contact my sister to use her amazon account. The other option, creating an account for my sister to use and then buying through it, also spoils the gift, since I will have to give her the task of creating such an account (because I don't want to mess anything up and because I obviously do not have access to her email for the account creation confirmation).

I don't think the problem is what you think it is. I have registered a digital edition already and as an experiment I logged in and went all the way to entering my CC info and completing the purchase of a second copy of the game before I stopped and closed the page.

Well, you must be special, because when I go to the store what I see is that both copies (standard and imperial) now have "you already own this game" in place of "buy now", and I can't click the buttons.

I would contact support for the official website and store, I just went through the process again and had no problem.

In addition, no one at this forum can help you with this problem, sorry to say.
